Daily Inspiration: Meet Aiysha Azula

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aiysha Azula.

Hi Aiysha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a creative spirit. And knew that I wanted to do something that I could fully express who I am.
I’ve done professional dancing, makeup, theater , videography, photography and now content creation. I’m always interested in art of different medias.
I believe creativity shouldn’t be something that can be put into one box and everyone has the ability to be a multi-hyphenate.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say being an artist has its ups and down Haha.
I’m definitely someone who gets an ideas in my head and needs to create it immediately!
The amount of time from idea to plan to execution is usually quick for me.
The only obstacle would be when I -like a lot of creatives- start to overthink.
Social media plays a part in the overthinking too. We start tying our emotions to numbers rather than just making something we’re proud of doing and sharing.
“Will this get enough views?” “ What’s my analytics?” “ Did this post get likes?”
Once I stopped worrying about that and started creating from the heart , everything aligned.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a bar manager at El Tesoro South Downtown.
I just got promoted, I’m so excited !!!
I have fell in love with bartending these last few years and alway am eager to expand my knowledge.
I love a fast paced environment to work in. Keeping your head on a swivel, multi-tasking, being direct and still kind.
I guess you can say I love the chaos hahaha.
But I also love being able to talk to guest, connect with people, bond and have a staff that feels like a chosen family.
I’d say what really sets me apart is that I don’t let my ego or experience get the better of me – always open to learn and take direction. Having an open mind and clear communication helps a lot in this industry.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I’m the youngest out of three and my siblings are almost a decade older than me.
I was (and still am) an old soul with diva tendencies.

My brother still calls me Princess.
I was always interested in art from a young age. I drew a lot. I got into theater and dancing in middle/high school.
I always knew I wanted to be in stage and be a star – just didn’t know how.
I’d say I have an outgoing personality. But I also like to make people feel welcomed. I’ve been told many times I can be intimidating hahaha
