Daily Inspiration: Meet Darius Miles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darius Miles.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story actually started as this second grader wanting to be a movie star. It took a big turn when we moved and because the technology wasn’t how it is now I had to work my way back up from numerous jobs and in and out of school because of so many life changes. Patience was one of the main things I had to develop because some things may take longer than expected.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It was plenty of struggles. Getting hired on at a job after putting in several hours than losing it when the warehouse may have been the worse. I kids, bills and a new car. I was tired of going through that stuff and I had to make a decision that kept me over the road for a while but it was beneficial.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m the type of person that believes that if that person can do it, than I can do it to and I will try and do it harder or better than you. Earning my Cdl’s may be want I’m proud of now because I never drove a stick before and I past on my first try and I feel like I mastered it after ten years of driving. Earning my bachelors degree in psychology I believe would make me proud and my family members. People know that I’m very funny and that I’m a very good person to be around and I think that’s what I’m best known for.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I want to see a huge shift I’n my acting career. I don’t want people to necessarily be like me but I want to be an inspiration to people. Education may be the trend that I would want to start because not only are there more opportunities in education, you just gain a lot more knowledge.
