Daily Inspiration: Meet Dayana Newlove

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dayana Newlove.

Dayana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Started social media back in 2012. Where me and my brothers used to make random funny videos about our lives. I’m much older than them and we’re very close.

Did barter collaborations for a few years until 2016 when companies asked me how much I charged. That’s when I realized that I could make money. In 2017 I did my first big collaboration with Kellogg’s for women’s international month.

In 2018, it became my full time job.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has always been a smooth road for me on Social media. I had very supportive people close to me. Who pushed me to do what I love online.

My dad allowed me to use his cameras to film content when I was a teenager while my mom helped me with content ideas.

My brothers were always down to film videos. My brother Andy learned my good angles at the age of 3.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My content specializes mostly on Beauty. I’ve done collaborations with brands like YSL, L’Oréal, Prada. Posting about my personal life on the daily. Including my 3 kids who I occasionally post online. I love sharing positive moments about motherhood.

When I got married, the content with my brothers declined. They make appearances now and then. They’re mostly behind the camera and get paid to help me with content creation. Andy is still my favourite when it comes to photoshoots.

It’s crazy to think that I have people that have followed me since I was 15 years old.
I’m very thankful for their support.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was a quiet kid. Very shy and would barely speak. I had a big imagination though and loved being in my own world.

I was very creative and used to write songs as a 7 year old. I always had a big interest with cameras and would buy different ones just to collect them.
