Daily Inspiration: Meet Jaden Brown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaden Brown.

Hi Jaden, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Born to a mixed race background with irish/italian and black parents from Colorado and New Jersey/New York. I grew up in a small town north of Atlanta, Georgia. My passions for acting and beauty started young, spending most of upbringing performing in theatre productions before making a shift into the hair industry in 2018.. After attending Aveda Institute of Atlanta, I began my professional hair journey working in every level from assistant to lead educator. After 8 years, my latest creative evolution has lead me back to the world of performing arts, embracing the role of Stylist and Creative Director. Traveling is one of my biggest passions and I have taught hands on classes across the country. I have curated my own ‘Best of Decatur 2026’ award winning 5 star salon suite, located in Avondale Estates. Pursing a path of entrepreneurship has allowed me the freedom to make my own path as a multifaceted artist.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As one may assume, growing up being the oldest half black queer pastors kid in the deep south was incredibly difficult. After years of battling not just external bullying but internalized shame and homophobia, Entering into the hair industry changed my life. It exposed me to an entire new world of self exploration. With the support of my local community, I began exploring my own truth and transition. However, after being publicly outed, I had no other alternative but to be bravely embrace my own light and independence.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
To put it simply, I specialize in transformative approaches to transformative art. Behind the chair, you can find me creating everything from short pixies to multicolor patterned creative colors. Animals and nature have always been one of my biggest special interests and some of my most well known looks are inspired by a Poison Dart Frog, African Wild dogs, and Blue ringed Octopus! After spending some of my early career as an assistant, I believe in the importance of in depth education which I now teach as an educator in Georgia and across the country.
Beyond hair, I am perhaps proudest of my work as a Creative Director and posing coach. While working on set, at times I noticed a real gap between the sylist, the model, and the photographer. Being a director on set allows me to not only help make sure the models are comfortable but can trust me to make sure they look good while being pushed to create more elevated movement.

What are your plans for the future?
Looking forward to continuing my cross country hair education tour through the fall. Traveling is truly cathartic to me and I love getting to make new connections all around the world. In the process of planning some film debuts, in front and behind the camera which I’m incredibly excited about! I just worked in my first fashion show and absolutely fell in love with the process so I’m manifesting some more runway work!
