Daily Inspiration: Meet Jakivia Swanston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jakivia Swanston.

Hi Jakivia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
JakofallTradez all started as a family nickname. Not necessarily because my family felt it fit my personality but because it simply was a play on my name Jakivia. As I got older I in love with so many things: dancing, skating, painting, hair and many more. Ultimately living up to the name Jak of ALL Tradez. A master none but often times better than a master of one. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love and support of my fiends and family. They remind me everyday of who I am where I’ve been and where I’m going. After my mom passed I lost a lot of myself and it reflected in my work. I’ve been through a lot over the last 3 years. Lost of a parent, car accident, job lost, eviction, car accident again, and the list does on. Needless to say I’ve overcome a lot and each of those life change have taught me not give up when life gets hard. I used what I was feeling g and going through to drive my spirt and create everyday. As 2026 continues I continue to surprised myself with each and every accomplishment. This is just the beginning for me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road along the way has definitely been bumpy and rocky but what’s a story without trial and tribulation. I believe everything happens for a reason. As I walk this path I had to overcome job loss, accidents, and depression. The jobs loss were for the best looming back and gave me the push I needed to become an entrepreneur. I was recently in an accident in April that’ has been my biggest struggle thus far. How do you overcome a struggle that out of your control you ask? Well that I’m still working on, however while I’may be working on it I believe this happen for reason. Due this accident I was out of work 3 months. I Eventually my job let me go and I realized all signs for me were pointing to entrepreneurship. Now is the time to invest in myself!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Art comes in all shapes and forms. At the forefront I’m a visual artist at heart. I love to draw and paint. However, in turn I’m creative in other aspects of the Arts. Such as dance and modeling; it fuels my energy everyday! As a dancer I’m proud of how far I have come with my confidence. Outside looking in must wouldn’t believe how nervous I can be. I’m proud to say my confidence has shot up and so has my creativity As a model the booking just came to me. Modeling has always been something I wanted to do and the carnival scene bought that to life more than ever. I was nervous going into it at first because I wasn’t sure if I had the body type they were looking for. Since I had been turn away by multiple bands already for being too small. Then boom one day I found the perfect band for me and the rest is history. Two bands later I’m on my way to Miami. The energy and passion I bring to everything automatically sets me apart from the pack. Know as the life of the party I have become a very popular promoter/dance in Atlanta . All by simply being myself no matter where I am.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Simply put friendly and confident.. My ability to naturally connect with others and network my self has got me to places I wasn’t expecting to reach yet. My daily motto is to always be yourself, people want to see who the real you is; that’s what sells.
