Daily Inspiration: Meet Kattie Cemer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kattie Cemer.

Kattie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hair has always been my passion and first love since I was a young girl. I began experimenting with my own hair, creating looks that would’ve been popular in those days and would receive lots of compliments. My big sisters would allow me to style their hair then people started to ask my mom if I could style there’s.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If I can be transparent, it was not a smooth road creating “Imprint Hair.” I believe that starting a small business is not always about having the finance, sometimes it’s having the courage and moments being crazy enough to start it even with all the odds that the economic statistics say you don’t have what it takes to become a business owner.

My struggle was finding the right hair vendor with the quality of hair I was comfortable putting my name on. Nowadays, scrolling on any social media seems that everyone sells hair but what separates my business from the rest is that we have integrity and value for each customer; not to say other small businesses do not but for Imprint Hair, honesty is what we’re standing by.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Most people would know me as an internet model, and some may not know me at all and that’s ok however, many years ago I modeled, not the type of model that you see in vogue or essence magazines but the type that’s featured in source or XXL magazine for which some of the greats have graced need I say.

In 2016, I took a break from that world and got in touch with the reality that I needed a change, a change of environment, and how I made money. I knew my God-given talent was in hair and wanted to try all other avenues to see if maybe hair wasn’t only the talent I had. It has been said that your wealth comes from the gift God gives you.

In September of 2022, I and a friend came to the conclusion that I should start a small business selling hair, at first I brush the idea off thinking I was too distracted to start a business yet I had all the tools too. After consistently ignoring the fact I really needed a hobby one that was healthy and one I can see turning into a major thing, I gave in to the idea. On Black Friday, a day after Thanksgiving, I launched my small business, Imprint Hair.

Imprint Hair is a line of hair that range from lace wigs to hair bundles and frontal. All human hair, with different lengths, colors, and textures. With the company’s expertise, we specialize in giving the forever imprint. It’s more than a slogan, it’s a statement one I’m proud of. Having your hair done helps the confidence that’s inward-displayed outwardly and what sets my small business apart from the rest is we’re constantly evolving, asking for feedback, taking into consideration what our customer need base is, or even taking special requests of all the hair I offer.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
There’s a book I’ve grown fond of over these last four months. I bet you questioning what book I’m reading that’s taken longer than some days or weeks to read, well let me answer your query little minds, It’s the Holy Bible. 2022 was a year that pushed me to learn who I really am. Reading this holy book and running a small business is truly teaching me how to feed God’s sheep. I also watch past sermons of Crazy Faith and Crazier Faith on YouTube taught by Pastor Michael Todd of Transformation Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. These two new methods I’ve added in my life has one helped build my faith in all areas, especially those I was weak in, and also reinforced the fact I have all that I need to succeed in this business as well as become more successful as long as God is involved.

If God isn’t there, I ain’t coming!!
