Daily Inspiration: Meet KeDarius Johnson

Today we’d like to introduce you to KeDarius Johnson.

Hi KeDarius, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started out doing photography at a studio in 2018 for multiple rappers in Nashville, Tennessee working with a manager named Lacman. He would tell people about me and would help me get bookings. Then one day i was asked by an artist that came to his studio if I knew how to shoot music videos and i said “yea, i think”. Now mind you, it wasn’t the best video but the artist loved it and that gave me the confidence to keep going and to continue to learn and perfect my craft. From there i gained a clientele in Nashville that allowed me to express my creative ability and create great visuals for many artist throughout the city. After 4 years of directing and shooting music videos I then felt it was time to branch out to a new city. So late 2022 i decided to move to Atlanta, Georgia where I met many great creatives such as a well known director named Showtime Showtime. Showtime brought me under his wing and took me into rooms i never imagined I’d be in and still till this day continues to put me on and give me great knowledge about the music video industry. While working with Showtime and other great directors and creatives in Atlanta I was able to gain my own clientele within the Atlanta area which has allowed me to continue to work create a name for myself.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No it has definitely not been a smooth road and I had to learn that the hard way. Atlanta has a wide range of creatives with many unique styles which in a way makes it hard to get booked as much as I was in Nashville. Which isn’t a bad thing, but it adds to the creative salad that Atlanta has to offer.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a director and videographer, but I specialize in music video directing. I’m mostly known for music video directing and editing. I’m most proud of the progression of my work over the years as I’ve been able to perfect my craft and make better music videos. What sets me apart is the passion I genuinely have for music video directing.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
The most surprising thing that people might not know about me is that I have a twin brother that doesn’t live in Atlanta,Georgia.
