Daily Inspiration: Meet Kenn Cordero

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenn Cordero.

Kenn Cordero

Hi Kenn, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born in 1990 in Miami, Florida, a city renowned for its vibrant culture and aesthetic appeal. From a young age, I developed a keen interest in beauty, inspired by the fashionable trends exhibited by my mother, grandmothers, and aunts Reasha and stacey. My passion for hair and fashion became evident in middle and high school, where I began earning income by styling my classmates’ hair. After relocating to Atlanta in 2008, I pursued formal education in cosmetology at Atlanta Technical College, following in the footsteps of my late grandmother, Shirley Lewis, a talented stylist. Since then, I have successfully expanded my business in the beauty industry.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Throughout my life, I have faced numerous challenges that tested my resilience, including moments of feeling unacknowledged despite delivering exceptional work, as well as the profound loss of two cherished individuals. However, I have learned that everything unfolds in its own time, and I am grateful for the greater number of positive experiences I have encountered. These lessons have strengthened my faith and perspective on life.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I view myself as both a hair artist and a hair therapist, specializing in wig installations, precision haircuts, particularly bobs, and a variety of styling techniques. I am passionate about enhancing my clients’ confidence and beauty during their time in my chair. What sets me apart is my ability to tailor each look to my clients’ specific needs, all while maintaining a trendy and sophisticated aesthetic. My greatest satisfaction comes from the joy and pride I see on my clients’ faces when they admire the finished results.

What matters most to you?
As a hairstylist, what matters most to me is building trust and rapport with my clients, ensuring they feel valued and understood.i always prioritize being happy, sane and maintaining a relationship with God because without faith you have nothing in my opinion.
