Daily Inspiration: Meet Krystal McCalla

Today we’d like to introduce you to Krystal McCalla.

Hi Krystal, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.

The Story Behind The Balm Department

At just 8 years old, my life changed forever when I was adopted. While my journey wasn’t always easy, it helped shape the person and entrepreneur I am today.

Even as a child, I always had a passion for fashion, beauty, and skincare. I loved expressing myself through style and finding ways to help people feel confident in their own skin.

18 later, that passion grew into something much bigger: The Balm Department.

The Balm Department represents more than just a brand—it stands for Balm Apparel, Lifestyle, and Makeup.

What started as a simple idea quickly became a growing business built on purpose, creativity, and community.

My journey began with one product: lip balms. I wanted to solve a problem I personally experienced—constantly dealing with dry, cracked lips.

After launching our lip balms, the support from customers was incredible. Sales exceeded expectations, and within our very first month of business, we were able to expand our product offerings.

Because of the continued love and support from our community, The Balm Department has grown into multiple collections, including:

• Balm Tote – stylish and functional accessories for everyday life

• Balm Skin – skincare products designed to help people feel confident and comfortable in their skin

• Balm Apparel– versatile fashion pieces that blend comfort, style, and confidence

•Balm Hydration – Hydration water bottles

•Balm Skin- Natural skin clay sticks for acne prone skin .

And we’re only getting started.

One of our proudest accomplishments has been launching our Influencer & Ambassador Program, giving creators the opportunity to grow alongside our brand.

Our ambassadors receive free products, a personalized discount code for their audience, and commissions on every order they help generate.

What began as a dream inspired by my love for beauty and fashion has become a growing brand with a mission to empower others through self-care, confidence, and creativity.

This is only the beginning for The Balm Department. We have so much more planned, and we can’t wait to continue this journey with all of you.

Thank you for being part of our story.

Stay tuned—the best is yet to come.
