Daily Inspiration: Meet LaToya Gay

Today we’d like to introduce you to LaToya Gay.

Hi LaToya, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a full-time freelancer with 16+ years of experience in customer service, helping brands create smooth, positive experiences that keep their customers happy and coming back. Supporting people has always been my lane — and I do it with heart, strategy, and professionalism.

I’m also a UGC creator and wellness advocate, sharing my real-life GLP-1 journey where I’ve lost 66 pounds in under a year. I use my platform to encourage, educate, and show what’s possible through consistency, faith, and showing up for yourself.

Before freelancing full-time, I was a co-owner of multiple successful ventures, including:
• Keto Hope Dealers
• KHD’s Keto Magazine
• The Born 2 Be Different book series (published May 2014)
• Bestselling author of Who Says You Can’t Work From Home (published February 2012)

I’ve had the privilege of working with respected companies both in corporate settings and remotely, including Wachovia Securities, McKesson (via Adecco), and Best Buy. I’ve also contracted with brands such as Udemy, Handground, Upwork (Project Success Manager), Subtl Beauty, BlendJet, and many more — delivering high-level customer support, operations assistance, and client success services.

From 2013–2015, I founded and managed VirtuallyNSync, LLC, where I built and led a successful virtual assistant team providing full-service administrative support for entrepreneurs and growing businesses.

I’ve also been recognized for my work and impact, including:
✨ Featured interview with Tamyka Washington of Marketing Her Way
✨ Nominated for Woman of the Year (WERock Awards)
✨ Nominated for Leading Mom in Business (StartUpNation)

I currently hold the following certifications:

ACSMI
CCRPS
APMIC

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not. There were times where I wanted to and even gave up because I was so overwhelmed and just burnt out. I was always comparing my success with others and when success wasn’t feeling too quick for me, I would just get discouraged and delay business deals or launches due to fear of failure.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

I am most proud of how far I have come and excited to see how much further I will go. What sets me apart from others is my heart to serve in whatever capacity I am needed in. I refuse to throw in the towel when times get rough anymore. I welcome the challenge.

How do you think about luck?
I think the role that luck has played is being able to consistently bring income even if it was a little.
