Today we’d like to introduce you to Marquisa Haile.
Hi Marquisa , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
In 2019, I saw the Card My Yard signs on a classmates Facebook page. I attempted to order a sign for my mother’s 70th birthday, and at the time they were not available in my area. But…the site offered information on starting a franchise in your area. I didn’t do it right away. I went back and forth with myself, because I am not a big outdoors person, even to this day, but I love bringing joy with our signs. In November of 2019, I decided to move forward. I opened my Card My yard Franchise in April of 2020 and staked my first sign in May of 2020 for graduation season, which is our busiest season. It was a bit overwhelming at the time, because we were in the pandemic, and large celebrations were out, and people were having small celebrations at home, and the signs were a big hit! A great problem to have. I have now owned my franchise for 6 years. I still absolutely love staking joy for the special occasions of the people in my community. We celebrate birthdays, graduations, retirement, baby showers, and so much more. Our signs advertise for themselves. The best advertisement is a sign in someone’s yard. That is how we stay in people’s hearts and minds. #Skip the card, stake the yard.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been pretty smooth. The biggest struggle is placing a sign in a yard that has not been watered or is all rock under a thin layer of grass.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I work for Piedmont Healthcare fulltime. Along with running my Card My yard franchise. Balancing my job, my business, and still having the time to spend with my family is very important to me. I am most proud of the opportunity to bring joy into people’s lives. I am very customer service oriented.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Always keep your why front and center in anything you do. This will help you to keep going when you want to quit.
