Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Morgan Mosley.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started out getting my feet wet with this Tubi series called; “Seasoned” playing an insurance salesman. From there just built the courage to get going doing background work on shows like The Chi and Power Book IV: Force. Once I realized how much passion and genuine enjoyment I had for the industry, I started putting myself in rooms with like-minded people. I was constantly texting new contacts, sending emails, and asking networks if anyone needed help on their projects. I even jumped on projects like Director Sanicole’s The Bet, where I volunteered as a PA and did some gorilla stunt work just to be on set and be of service.
From there, I was fortunate enough to be reached out to for an indie film currently streaming on Tubi and Prime called Men Do Not Intend to Cheat (directed by Celestine Osemeilu and Cassandra Bell). Landing my first-ever lead role as Mike sparked an even bigger fire in me.
After that, I kept doing background work to stay active, but I was constantly looking for ways to get more reps in. I took acting classes via Skype, and I even asked a co-worker at LA Fitness—who had a theater background—to help me practice monologues during my lunch breaks. I was doing everything I could to hone my craft and avoid imposter syndrome.
Eventually, I made the move to Atlanta after receiving some extra encouragement from my director, Cassandra Bell. Everything aligned when I reconnected with a great old friend, Tasha White, who owns MODEx Studio in Buckhead. She motivated me, pushed me, and helped direct my journey. I worked at her studio as an assistant and day-of event operator for productions, and she even gave me the opportunity to host a show/podcast called Inside the Craft. Alongside my co-host and acting coach, I got to pick the brains of some incredible cast members from BMF in front of a live audience.
Later, I was blessed with the lead role of Aaron in a short drama titled After The Rain, written and directed by Tecoya M. Harris. The story focuses on mental health awareness, family dynamics, and overcoming generational trauma. The project went on to win Best Short and Best Short Actor at the Nashville Independent Filmmakers Festival in March 2025—which was a huge honor!
To stay busy and keep putting myself in the right rooms, I continued working, including background work on BMF. Along the way, I also started learning how to write episodic scripts and shorts so I can create—and star in—my own projects down the road!
Recently, I had the opportunity to audition for and land a role in an independent film written and directed by Barry Brewer called The Blue Lounge. It’s a gritty, character-driven drama set in an upscale nightspot, and it’s premiering with the new OBE Studios in Gary, Indiana. I got to play my very first antagonist role in it, and I loved every minute of it.
Currently, I’m in pre-production for two upcoming shows, one of which is On Ten, produced, written, and directed by Mann Robinson. And Majesty Studios: Film and Movie Productions. J. Carol Grant – owner, producer and director. In preproduction of two episodic, “Sons of Atlanta” & “The Grant Files”
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No road is ever completely smooth. But one thing I can say is that my sobriety journey has made this path so much easier to trek. It has taught me to approach everything with presence, intention, urgency, and faith.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
What I Do & What I Specialize In
I am an elite athletic performance coach and trainer with Fury Sports Performance & Instruction, specializing in multi-dimensional athletic development. My focus areas include:
* Speed & Agility Development: Unlocking elite top-end speed, explosive deceleration, and rapid change-of-direction.
* Power & Functional Strength: Building actionable, on-field explosive power tailored to an athlete’s specific sport and position.
* Injury Prevention & Longevity: Equipping athletes with proper movement mechanics, mobility, and structural durability so they stay healthy and on the field.
I work with athletes of all ages and skill levels through private 1-on-1 sessions, semi-private groups, and full team training environments.
What I Am Known For & What Sets Me Apart
What truly sets my coaching apart is the bridge between high-level athletic experience and proven coaching methodology:
* Elite Playing Foundation: Having played at the Division I collegiate level (Ball State), collegiate powerhouses (Coffeyville Community College, Grand Valley State University), and professionally in arena football (Sioux City Bandits, Cleveland Gladiators), I know exactly what it takes physically and mentally to compete at the absolute top tier.
* A Decade of Hands-On Experience: Over the past 10 years, I’ve coached athletes ranging from youth beginners building foundational motor skills to high school recruits, collegiate standouts, and pros refining their edge.
* ISSA Certified & Strategic Communication: Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Grand Valley State alongside my ISSA training credentials allows me to break down complex biomechanics and performance concepts into clear, actionable, and motivating instruction for every athlete I work with.
What I Am Most Proud Of
I’m most proud of the long-term transformation and longevity of the athletes who walk through my doors. Seeing a player gain the confidence, physical tools, and mental resilience to overcome injury, earn a roster spot, or secure a college scholarship is the ultimate reward. Building a legacy where athletes learn how to train with purpose and discipline—skills that serve them long after their competitive playing days are over—is what drives everything I do.
What matters most to you? Why?
Family and my community. When the road gets rough, knowing I have their support gives me the confidence to overcome any obstacle.
