Daily Inspiration: Meet Remi Matthews

Today we’d like to introduce you to Remi Matthews.

Hi Remi, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Remi’s journey into entertainment began long before her first acting class or audition. From a very young age, she was an emotionally expressive child who naturally connected with people and their stories. When she watched movies, she often formed deep emotional connections with the characters and could easily empathize with what they were experiencing. Whether a character was happy, excited, nervous, or heartbroken, Remi felt those emotions right along with them. Looking back, that ability to connect deeply with stories and people was one of the earliest signs of her natural inclination toward acting.

As her mother, I began noticing how naturally she gravitated toward storytelling, performance, and creative expression. Whether she was pretending to be different characters, recreating scenes she loved, or making family and friends laugh, she had a unique ability to communicate emotion and bring imagination to life. To help nurture those gifts, we enrolled her in acting and modeling training while exploring opportunities that would allow her to learn and grow. What started as a fun activity quickly developed into a genuine passion for acting and storytelling.

As her interest in acting grew, Remi began training and auditioning for opportunities in film, commercials, and modeling. One of her early acting experiences was portraying Rosie in the short film *Ice Cream*, where she gained valuable on-set experience and developed a deeper appreciation for the collaborative nature of filmmaking. She later appeared in the feature film *The Him I Knew*, portraying the younger version of one of the film’s principal actresses. The experience gave her additional exposure to professional filmmaking and allowed her to contribute to the visual storytelling process while continuing to learn from experienced cast and crew members. Through each project, she discovered that one of her favorite parts of acting is meeting new people, learning from professionals, and helping bring stories to life.

In addition to film work, Remi has appeared in several commercial projects and has had opportunities to work in both featured and principal roles. One of her most memorable experiences came during a recent commercial production when her preparation, professionalism, and ability to take direction led to expanded opportunities on set. Watching her adapt, remain focused, and embrace new challenges with confidence has been incredibly rewarding.

What stands out most about Remi is not simply her love for performing, but her eagerness to learn. She takes direction well, enjoys collaborating with others, and approaches each opportunity with enthusiasm, professionalism, and curiosity. She genuinely loves being on set, meeting new people, and discovering how stories come to life through the work of an entire creative team.

Through her developing platform, Remi Reads, she shares storytime readings, books she enjoys, short films she creates, vlogs, and other creative content that celebrates storytelling, creativity, and self-expression. As she continues to grow the platform, her goal is to inspire other children to embrace their imagination, discover new interests, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Although she is still at the beginning of her journey, every audition, acting class, commercial, film project, and creative opportunity has contributed to her growth both professionally and personally. Today, Remi continues to pursue opportunities in film, television, commercials, print modeling, and content creation while balancing school, family life, and the joys of being a child. She loves meeting new people, learning new skills, and embracing new challenges. We are grateful for every opportunity she has received so far and excited to see where her journey leads next.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
While Remi has enjoyed every step of her journey so far, it has not always been easy. One of the biggest lessons she is learning is that acting requires patience and perseverance. Not every audition leads to a booking, but what makes Remi unique is that she genuinely gets excited just for the opportunity to audition. She loves receiving a script, creating a character, and having the chance to perform.

Like many young actors, she is also learning how to balance acting opportunities with school, family life, and simply being a child. While she is passionate about performing, it is important that she continues to enjoy the experiences that inspire her creativity and imagination.

Because she is still early in her career, every audition, class, commercial, and film project brings new lessons. Whether the outcome is a booking or simply the opportunity to perform, Remi approaches each experience with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. We have found that her positive attitude and genuine love for storytelling make every step of the journey meaningful.

Remi is a young actress, content creator, and storyteller who is passionate about bringing characters and stories to life. She enjoys acting in films and commercials, creating her own short films, and sharing creative content through her developing platform, Remi Reads. Through her videos, storytime readings, vlogs, and original projects, she hopes to inspire other children to use their imagination, embrace creativity, and discover the joy of storytelling.

One of the things that sets Remi apart is her inquisitive spirit and genuine curiosity. She loves learning, asking questions, and understanding the world around her. That curiosity naturally extends into her acting, where she enjoys exploring characters, stories, and new experiences. She is also remarkably receptive to direction and has demonstrated an ability to quickly adapt and pivot when needed. Whether she is adjusting to a new scene, taking feedback, or embracing unexpected changes on set, she approaches each situation with focus, flexibility, and enthusiasm beyond her years.

Remi is also known for her positive attitude, professionalism, and willingness to learn. She genuinely enjoys the audition process, gets excited about opportunities to perform, and embraces each experience as a chance to grow. Directors, coaches, and mentors have often commented on her ability to take direction with ease and apply feedback immediately.

What I am most proud of is that Remi loves the process as much as the outcome. She celebrates every opportunity to learn, whether it leads to a booking or not. While she is still early in her journey, she has already demonstrated confidence, resilience, adaptability, and a strong work ethic. Most importantly, she remains kind, humble, and eager to learn—qualities that I believe will continue to serve her well both on and off the screen.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the most important lessons Remi has learned is to focus on the experience rather than the outcome. While every actor hopes to book a role, she has learned that there is value in every audition, class, and opportunity to perform. She genuinely enjoys receiving a script, creating a character, and having the chance to tell a story, regardless of the final result.

She has also learned the importance of being open, adaptable, and willing to learn. Every set, audition, and project is different, and being able to take direction, embrace feedback, and adjust quickly has helped her grow both as a performer and as a person.

Perhaps the greatest lesson of all is that success is not measured only by bookings or accomplishments, but by growth. Each experience has helped her build confidence, develop new skills, and deepen her love for storytelling. By staying curious, working hard, and enjoying the journey, she continues to discover new opportunities and possibilities along the way.
