Hi Sergio, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I arrived from Venezuela in May 2016, in my country I was a businessman who developed in different areas within the mass consumption sectors, the political situation in Venezuela forced us to leave the country and come for a new dream. Finding freedom and peace for my family was the first goal achieved, later facing important challenges such as the language and culture barrier made my wife and I work in areas and sectors unknown until now, I was working in Construction, I was valet parking But I was always clear about my goal and no matter what I had to go through in different jobs, I always knew that it was necessary to advance, acquire new knowledge and skills in this new country. In January 2017 I started working in the insurance and tax preparation industry, and a new chapter in my professional life began, I discovered a Hispanic community that needed information and assistance, which lacked quality service but in Spanish and was there where I developed my new market niche. I continued to challenge myself by learning in English and training myself more and more and acquiring new knowledge that I could transmit to my community. Now this has become a passion for teaching and transmitting tools and knowledge to people and their families, new business entrepreneurs, Hispanic immigrants who came determined to do things excellent. That is what I dedicate myself to, a trusted advisor in the tax and insurance area, and this has allowed me to generate important well-being for my family and positively impact my community.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The first struggle has been the language, learning English has been a necessary challenge to acquire new skills, another important issue has been finding the best ways to educate and change paradigms of our Hispanic culture. A road that over the years has been increasingly smoother and more spontaneous.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I started in the tax and insurance industry as an employee and over the course of the last 4 years I was able to partner with the company that trained me in the taxes and insurance of Auto and Home SERVICIOS UNIDOS, opening 2 offices in the city of Woodstock And Canton, 3 years ago I started an agency dedicated to health and life insurance with my wife RS ADVISORS where we have trained many new agents giving them the opportunity to develop and learn from this business .For me it is a pride to be able to provide quality service to my Hispanic community and additionally provide the opportunity to those who want to undertake to have valuable, timely and varied information, as well as the necessary training that helps achieve success in this country.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I am passionate about life, although my work demands a lot of time, I get up every day at 4 am because I have another additional passion for serving my clients and partners and that is that I really enjoy doing Triathlons and they require a lot of training and discipline. Many of my clients are unaware that when I meet with them first thing in the morning I already have 4 hours of training under my belt. During my training hours I usually listen to audiobooks that help me deepen my knowledge and strengthen my being on a personal and spiritual level.I deeply believe in the power of thought and mind. It’s something I even like to share in my work and the training sessions I frequently give.
