Daily Inspiration: Meet Sisi Anderson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sisi Anderson.

Hi Sisi, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my cosplay journey not too long ago, it was actually after I had my second baby! It was 2023 and I had just read Acotar. It reawakened my joy for reading, and shortly after I found bookish cosplays and dove in head first, and have immersed myself ever since! I love the magic and joy and community that can be found here!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road for me, as a plus sized cosplayer there have been many people telling me, I can’t cosplay certain characters because of my body type, there has been highs and very lows, as much as I love this community, there is often a drama and jealousy, and rumors spread, that can cause a lot of harm. The right people stick by you through it all, and I would never had made it this far without the support of my husband and kiddos, as well as my closest friends that I made in this community, and my wonderful supporters!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a licensed cosmetologist, I love doing hair, makeup and nails! I even dabble in skin care, as I did it all in school! It’s truly such a passion of mine, I love to make others feel beautiful!!!

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t know if I believe in *Luck* I grew up very poor, and I worked hard for everything I have! I have always been super independent and hard working. I just try to put 100% into everything that I do. I can admit I am very blessed, but I also struggled to get here, nothing has just been handed to me in life, and I appreciate it all the more for it!
