Exploring Life & Business with Adam Williams of Infinite Designs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Williams.

Hi Adam, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have wanted to own my own business and be my own boss for as long as I can remember. My 20s and 30s slowly became a littered graveyard of failed attempts. It took a global pandemic to shake things up enough for me to see a way out.

In February 2020, after being laid off due to COVID, I realized that I had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I needed to take advantage of. I committed myself to using the extra time I now had to research the answer to the questions “Where did my passion and creativity go?” and “What did I really want to do with my life?”

Through this introspection, I rediscovered my passion for web design and development and began studying daily, learning the fundamentals of what makes for a good website experience, what users are looking for, and how to guide them through the site to arrive at their desired destination. I learned things like design best practices, color composition, layouts, font pairings, and so much more.

I quickly realized that I loved this work and committed myself to getting the knowledge and experience I would need to be taken seriously in a completely new industry. Fast forward six years and many happy clients later, and I have a thriving small business doing what I love. These days, I run my business from my home (don’t miss that Atlanta traffic), and enjoy creating custom websites for amazing clients.

The road was long and winding, but I wouldn’t trade the satisfaction of my current success for anything. Show up each day, each week, each month, year after year, and recommit yourself to that thing you love, as many times as it takes, always growing and learning as you go, and you will succeed. Period. The key is to never quit.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I had to push through the stigma of being in my early forties, trying to reinvent myself from scratch in a completely new industry. That was a struggle to put it mildly. Imposter syndrome is real, and it wants to eat your lunch. It doesn’t sleep or take days off, and it doesn’t care that you’re trying to feed your kids. The key is to block out the noise and continue to show up, as if your life depends on it. Because it does.

As you know, we’re big fans of Infinite Designs. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I build websites for small businesses. I help them with everything from a new website or website rebuild, local SEO, on-site SEO (Search Engine Optimization), AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), and I also advise businesses on topics such as email marketing, social media marketing, and more.

Many of my clients pay me a monthly retainer for access to my knowledge of internet marketing. They are happy to know that I will be there for them whenever or whatever comes next in their digital journey.

The best way to keep a client is to become their friend. I cherish long-lasting relationships built on deep understanding, and the only way to get there is by listening to their most desired goals, understanding how their business works, and working together on a plan to help them succeed today, tomorrow, and in the future.

What are your plans for the future?
As I head into my biggest year yet, my plans include strengthening my core offerings, streamlining the day-to-day operations, and continuing to offer the best customer service in the industry.
