Hi Anita, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My career background is in the corporate world but I was getting burned out and ready for a change. I had always wanted to have my own business but didn’t know what. I would always talk about starting a business so I decided I had to either take action or stop talking about it. So, I decided to take action and started ideating business ideas. I remembered my challenges being pregnant while working and needing presentable work wear but not wanting to purchase expensive maternity clothes. That’s how La Belle Bump was born – to help solve this problem. Creating an affordable and sustainable option that allowed women to look and feel confident and beautiful during pregnancy

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No! Lol. I’m not sure any new venture is a smooth road. There were and definitely are challenges – from technology to shipping issues to inventory delays. But probably the biggest challenge was the impact of Covid. We were having our best months prior to Covid and when Covid hit, memberships drastically dropped. And, of course, it was out of our hands. I shifted focus during that time to work on things that I could control and focused on making improvements that had been on the to do list for a while. So, when sales started happening again, we were able to provide an even better service.

We’ve been impressed with La Belle Bump, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
La Belle Bump is the premier maternity and nursing clothing rental service. We offer memberships with unlimited exchanges, personalized service and free home delivery. In addition we offer single rental items- both Everyday wear and Special Occasion wear. One thing that makes us unique is that we have people behind the scenes reading all the feedback and helping make selections based on the feedback. I’m most proud of this personalized and customized service that we provide to each individual customer. For instance, each individual gets a hand written note from a stylist. It’s something small but it means a lot.
