Today we’d like to introduce you to Carla Thatch.

Hi Carla, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Carla Thatch and I grew up in Norton, Ohio. After moving around, I’ve settled here in Georgia. I worked for many years as a social worker. My husband and I began dabbling in real estate investing over 30 years ago. We have seen how real estate has helped stabilize and sustain us financially And we would like to be able to help others do the same. I love helping people find homes that they can settle in and make a haven of.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My husband and I have been investing in real estate for the last 30 years. Several years ago I decided to take my passion for real estate and help others build wealth and meet their housing needs.

I was selling real estate for several years and finally decided to branch out and start my own brokerage, which is called the Empress Realty Group. My daughter became licensed and joined me in the business. She works and lives primarily on the north side of town and I work and live on the south side of town. Together we cover the whole thing.

It has not always been smooth, but when things got rocky, it turned out to be an opportunity to grow. And that is how our brokerage came to be.

Selling real estate is never predictable. If your personal circumstances don’t change, the market will. The last few years have seen us in a challenging market especially if you as a realtor are transitioning. But God has been faithful and we are making the changes necessary and things are definitely going in the right direction.

The Empress Realty Group is a new full-service real estate agency serving the greater Atlanta area. We are a mother-daughter team and we are growing fast. Our investment experience and our desire to see the residence of Atlanta owning their own homes make us a great choice for homebuyers. We also have excellent expertise and how we price homes being sold on the market. This expert knowledge makes sure they are home listings sell quickly.

Not only do we offer top-notch service, but we really care about our clients. We want them to be safe and happy with their home choices. Any big plans?
In a few months, we will be holding a grand opening so that we can celebrate how far we have come, and the new opportunities we have to serve our colleagues and the community.

Our goal is to create confident, educated home buyers and sellers in the Atlanta area.
