Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Anna Kolomitseva, ND.
Hi Dr. Anna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my career as a licensed naturopathic doctor in Canada, working in an integrative clinic alongside physiotherapists and chiropractors. I loved the collaborative approach and thought I had found my professional home.
Then I moved to Georgia.
It was exciting and also incredibly challenging. Naturopathic doctors aren’t licensed in Georgia, which meant I couldn’t practice the same way I had before. I had to make a decision: walk away or reimagine that this work could look like here.
That’s when I founded Independently Healthy Wellness & Coaching, not just as a workaround, but as an opportunity to innovate. We designed a fully virtual, education-based wellness model that stays within Georgia’s legal guidelines while still delivering depth and strategy. We focused on long-term transformation, not quick fixes. Over time, we developed proprietary systems to help high-performing women stabilize energy, balance hormones and break out of chronic burnout cycle. It’s structured. It’s practical. And it works!
As the business grew, so did the demand for care across state lines. I became licensed in Connecticut and we opened a second location there. We’ve expanded our team to include nutritionists and operational support so that the experience we offer is both grounded and high-touch.
Getting to this point wasn’t easy. I had to rethink what it means to lead, to adapt and to serve. But that challenge shaped everything we do now. It gave us a clear identity and a model that truly reflects the way real healing happens.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been smooth, but even the challenge became part of the strategy.
Starting a business in a state where naturopathic medicine is not licensed meant I could not follow a traditional path. There were no templates to lean on. I had to build something original that was legally sound, clinically meaningful and operationally strong. That pushed me to think like a founder, not just a practitioner.
The harder part was walking away from the framework I had trained for. I spent years becoming a licensed doctor in Canada. Shifting into a consulting-based model felt, at first, like I was leaving something behind. In reality, it was a step forward. It gave me the opportunity to lead, to create and to offer a structure that filled a real gap in women’s wellness.
There were long hours, legal complexities and plenty of pressure. But limitations have a way of sharpening your focus. They help you get clear on what matters. That clarity is what helped me develop the frameworks and systems we use today and what allowed us to grow into a multi-state business supported by a strong team.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Independently Healthy Wellness & Coaching (IHWC) is a concierge-style wellness consulting company for women who are tired of guessing. Most of our clients are high-achieving professionals who feel off. Their cycles are irregular, their energy is unpredictable, or their body just isn’t responding like it used to. They’ve already tried the supplements and clean eating. They don’t need more noise. They need clarity.
We specialize in structured wellness programs that focus on root-cause strategy, not quick fixes. Our care is highly personalized and grounded in functional nutrition, testing where needed and systems that actually work in real life. We are not supplement-forward, We’re systems-forward. And that’s what makes it sustainable.
What sets us apart is that we take a very practical approach. Our clients don’t need to overhaul their entire lives to get results. They need clear direction, education that sticks and the kind of support that helps them take consistent action. We build all of that into our care.
We offer virtual wellness consulting, structured membership plans, nutrition strategy and curated tools that help people take their health seriously without burning out in the process. Our team includes nutritionists and support staff, so the care is seamless and collaborative.
What I’m most proud of is that our clients don’t just get better, they understand how to stay better. They leave feeling equipped. That’s what it means to become independently healthy. That’s what our brand is here to deliver.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite memories is being backstage before dance recitals. I must’ve been ten or so. The music was already playing and I could feel the floor under my feet. I remember this weird calm I used to get right before going out. Everything would go quiet and I’d just focus on the movement I knew so well.
I danced for most of my childhood: ballet, modern, a bit of musical theater. It was a huge part of my life. It taught me how to be in my body, how to express things without needing words and how to stay focused when all eyes are on you. That kind of discipline sticks.
Looking back, I think that’s where a lot of my presence comes from. That mix of structure and flow. It shows up in the way I work now, even if the setting is totally different.
