Hi Jacqueline, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started making cocktails in my basement and would invite friends and family over for holidays and game nights. I always got great compliments, which built up my confidence and made me realize how much I truly loved doing this. I decided to go to bartending school to take my passion to the next level, get certified, and really master the craft.

Gaining those professional credentials unlocked a whole new world for me. I realized that my favorite part of hosting wasn’t just mixing the drinks—it was creating an unforgettable vibe for my guests. That’s what sparked the launch of Cocktail Affair by JQ.

I transitioned from serving loved ones in my basement to running a mobile bartending business for private events, themed parties, and collaborations. Today, I bring that same warm, high-energy hospitality from my basement days to every event we do, making sure every client’s celebration feels like the ultimate VIP experience.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s definitely been a smooth road in terms of my passion and love for the craft, but like any new business, the biggest hurdle has just been getting our name out there and consistently building a client base. Starting from scratch means you have to learn how to market yourself and turn that basement buzz into regular bookings.

That said, I’ve been blessed to stay busy! Managing the day-to-day hustle of running the business side of things while making sure every event gets 100% of my energy has been a learning curve, but it’s a challenge I love. Every event we do opens a new door, and seeing the business grow piece by piece makes all the hard work worth it.

Cocktail Affair by JQ is a mobile bartending business specializing in premium, high-energy hospitality for private parties, themed celebrations, and corporate events. We don’t just show up and pour drinks; we craft custom signature cocktails based entirely on the unique vibe of your event.

What really sets us apart is the interactive experience we bring. For every booking, I design custom recipe cards for the guests to take home, and we keep the crowd laughing and mixing with cocktail bingo and fun prize giveaways.

I built this business from the ground up—starting by making drinks in my basement for family game nights, going to bartending school to get certified, and turning that passion into a thriving, busy operation. I want readers to know that our focus is always on quality, connection, and crafting cocktails with style, one sip at a time.

What I love most about Atlanta is the incredible growth opportunities for entrepreneurs. There is a real sense of community here where people genuinely want to support local businesses, collaborate, and see each other succeed. There is always something to do, a new event happening, or a vibe to tap into, which makes it the perfect place to run a mobile business.

What I like least—just like anyone else you ask in this city—has to be the traffic! Trying to get across town for an event can definitely test your patience, but the energy of the city and the amazing people make it completely worth it.
