Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline Pineda.
Hi Jacqueline, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey into photography began in a very simple way — with my phone. I have always loved capturing special moments, especially those involving my family. When my children had birthdays, I enjoyed creating small photo setups for them so I could capture those memories. At the time, I didn’t own a professional camera, so all the photos were taken with my phone and shared on social media.
Many people started complimenting my photos, but there was one moment that truly changed everything. One day, a cousin of mine reached out and asked if I could take birthday photos for her daughter. I explained to her that I didn’t own a professional camera and that all my photos were taken with my phone. She was surprised and told me she couldn’t believe the photos were taken with a phone, but she still trusted me and asked me to do the session.
That experience was very special to me because it was the moment when the idea of pursuing photography more seriously was born.
In 2020, I decided to invest in my first professional camera. Around that same time, I also created my photography pages on Facebook and Instagram to begin sharing my work and looking for opportunities. One of my first jobs was photographing a couple who were getting married in a civil ceremony at the courthouse. That moment marked the beginning of my professional journey. From there, I began sharing my work, and little by little more opportunities started to come.
Over time, my work expanded into weddings, quinceañeras, corporate events, family portraits, and many other special moments. I also began offering studio-style sessions by transforming a space in the garage of my home into my own photography studio. It may be a simple space, but it represents my passion, dedication, and the growth of my business.
When I purchased my first camera, I knew I wanted to learn the craft properly. I began taking photography workshops to learn how to use my camera and how to edit my images professionally. I didn’t want to simply own a camera — I wanted to truly understand the art of photography so I could provide the best experience possible for the people who trusted me with their memories.
What I love most about photography is the opportunity to capture meaningful moments in people’s lives. Every event is different, every family has its own story, and every moment deserves to be remembered. For me, each session is a new challenge and an experience that I truly enjoy.
Photography has also allowed me to find a balance between my professional life and my personal life. I am married and a mother of four children, and one of the things I value most about this career is the flexibility it gives me to dedicate time to my family while continuing to grow my business.
Looking toward the future, my dream is to continue growing as a photographer, keep learning, become more recognized for my work, and continue capturing meaningful memories for the families and clients who trust me to document their most special moments.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey has not always been easy. When I decided to pursue photography, one of the first challenges was purchasing my first professional camera. I remember that my husband and I had to buy it through monthly payments because at that time it was not something we could afford to pay for all at once.
Over time, I also realized that photography is not just about owning a camera. The equipment can be very expensive, and it requires many other tools such as lenses, flashes, memory cards, and other accessories to be able to do the job properly. Because of that, my growth has been step by step, slowly investing in the equipment I need.
Another important challenge was investing in my education. My husband and I had to make the effort to save money so that I could take photography workshops to learn how to properly use my camera, improve my techniques, and learn how to edit my photos professionally.
Although the journey has not been easy and has required a lot of effort, it has also been very rewarding. Every step, every investment, and every challenge has been worth it. Today I can say that all of that effort has allowed me to grow, learn, and continue building something that I truly love doing.

JP Sweet Memories Photography focuses on capturing meaningful moments in people’s lives. My work includes weddings, quinceañeras, corporate events, family portraits, and special sessions. For me, photography is not just about taking pictures it’s about telling stories and preserving memories that people will cherish for a lifetime.
One thing that defines my work is my love for capturing real and natural moments. I enjoy allowing each event to flow naturally so I can document genuine emotions, smiles, hugs, and all the small details that make every celebration unique.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with many families and at different types of events, which has helped me grow both professionally and personally. One of the things I am most proud of is building my business step by step while constantly learning and improving my craft.
My goal has always been to provide a professional and welcoming experience where people feel comfortable and confident that their memories are in good hands.
What I want people to know about my brand is that behind every photograph there is passion, dedication, and a genuine love for capturing moments that will never happen the same way again.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I believe that luck can play a small role in life, but for me the growth of my business has mainly been the result of hard work, learning, and perseverance. I started from the very beginning, taking photos with my phone, and little by little I continued learning and investing in my equipment and education.
Many of the opportunities I have had came from people who trusted my work and recommended my services to others. Every happy client has opened the door to new opportunities.
More than luck, I believe it has been a combination of passion, dedication, and the support of my family, especially my husband, who has been with me since the very beginning of this journey.
For me, every opportunity that comes my way is a blessing, but it is also the result of the work and effort I have put into building my business step by step.
