Exploring Life & Business with Renate Floyd of Beneath the Surface Wellness LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Renate Floyd

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Born and raised in GERMANY where at the age of 14-17 started my first profession becoming a hairstylist. I am a creative and intuitive person by nature so i thrived in the beauty industry.
At the age of 23 i meet my husband at the time who was an Air Force officer. A year and a half later our daughter was born.
Our first big move happened in December of 1985 leaving everything familiar behind we ended up in Panama City FL😩 culture shock for real!! I had a beautiful home with a pool, a family, what more do i want you might ask but ….. i was not happy, no transportation/car no friends to walk to. It was very hard on me to say the least!
I ended up getting my first drivers license and ended up working for a German lady who owned a boutique downtown.
Then we became great friends with another couple, we were inseparable and life was good again.😊
We moved a few more times( back to Germany again, South Carolina and finally to Atlanta.
Right before my divorce i finished my training to become an Esthetician and worked many years in the holistic world at AVEDA SPAS. I also wanted to teach so becoming an Esthetic Instructor was next and in 2017 added on LIFECOACHING to my credentials.
My business was born in 2021 BENEATH THE SURFACE WELLNESS where i now bridge holistic skincare intuitive LifeCoaching as well as consultations on general health.. My own health crisis and not wanting to end up in the traditional healthcare system , taking drugs for the rest of my life I was determined to look for alternatives. As it turned out that was the best thing i ever did, and now having learned so much from my own experience plus my functional doctors that believe in treating the whole body I’m able to pass this knowledge to my clients. First and fare most i make them understand that with so many illnesses you are not stuck with this!! I’m living prove😉

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No one does anything without some struggles along the way!!
For me it’s the fact that ‘ when the shit hits the fan!”my services are usually the first that people stop spending money on, because in some people’s mind they are still looked at luxury 🤔
So the challenge presents itself trying to make people understand that the way i carry out my treatments through touch, aroma, sound and energy work i address the whole human being on multiple levels. And that’s hard to put into words, it has to be experienced🙌

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My esthetic business offers Facial Treatments with organic products, Waxing Services, Brow Shaping, Brow and Lash Tinting, Back Treatments
In my coaching i guide individuals to uncover their authentic self with a variety of techniques s.a.asking questions helping the client see what they can’t, goal setting, telling a new story ( flipping the coin)to achieve their desired outcomes.

I’m known for my touch for sure, but also for my ability to put a new client at ease whether recieving esthetic services or coaching. They also call me the “ Brow Whisperer “ that’s my artistic ability which is absolutely needed when shaping someone’s brows.

What sets me apart is that I nurture my clients and that can be experienced on multiple levels.

What i want readers to know is my mission and promise is to not only deliver a great service, but also provide healing where its needed through aroma ,sound and touch.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Be clear about “ your why” why did you started this in the first place! And whenever you hit lumps and bumps ( and you will) always go back to your WHY.
