Exploring Life & Business with Tabitha Canty of Tabitha Canty Realty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tabitha Canty.

Hi Tabitha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
From a young age, I’ve always had a bubbly personality, high energy, and a natural passion for bringing people together. I’ve always been the person who loves to laugh, uplift others, and create memorable experiences. As a child, my parents enrolled me in acting classes to help channel my creativity and outgoing personality—and honestly, that fun, expressive side of me never went away. I was the kid dressing up for every Spirit Week in middle and high school, and even today, I still love finding reasons to laugh, dress up, and enjoy life with friends and family.

At the same time, I’ve always had a very analytical side. I genuinely enjoy problem-solving, critical thinking, and creating systems that make life easier and more organized. That combination of creativity, energy, and strategy has shaped who I am both personally and professionally.

My professional journey actually started in high school through a work-study program that gave me the opportunity to work at a mortgage company in Atlanta. I was very driven, eager to learn, and coachable at the time, and my manager really took me under his wing and taught me the mortgage and home financing process from the ground up. That early experience gave me a strong foundation and deep understanding of real estate and financial literacy at a young age.

I later earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology, which helped me better understand human behavior, communication, leadership, and how to truly connect with and support people through major life decisions. I also expanded my education into Cybersecurity and Data Protection because I wanted to better understand how companies protect people’s personal information in today’s digital world.
One of my greatest accomplishments, though, is being a mother to two amazing boys who are 14 years apart in age. And yes—that definitely taught me how to pivot and adapt depending on what season of life I’m in! I’ve been the sports mom, the cheerleader, the chaperone, the driving instructor, the nurse, the teacher, the counselor, and even the financial advisor all wrapped into one. Motherhood taught me patience, resilience, flexibility, and how important it is to create stability, peace, and joy within a home.

Today, I bring all of those experiences together in the way I serve my clients. Real estate, for me, is so much bigger than buying or selling a house. It’s about helping people create a lifestyle they truly love—a space where families can grow, feel safe, build memories, and experience peace.

My approach is rooted in honesty, education, transparency, and genuine care. I’m very direct, supportive, and focused on helping my clients make informed decisions that truly align with their goals. Whether someone is buying their first home, relocating, investing, or preparing to sell, I want them to feel confident, educated, and fully supported throughout the entire process.

Most importantly, my faith guides everything I do. I truly believe that with God, all things are possible—and that includes finding the right home, building generational wealth, and creating a life you genuinely love. So when people work with me, it’s never just a transaction…it’s truly an experience.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road—but honestly, I believe the challenges are what shaped me into the professional and person I am today.

Like many people entering real estate, one of the biggest challenges in the beginning was transitioning from simply learning the business to actually building a consistent and trusted client base. Real estate is a relationship-driven industry, and trust isn’t built overnight. It takes patience, persistence, consistency, and a genuine commitment to serving people well. There were moments where I had to keep showing up, stay disciplined, and continue believing in myself even when things felt uncertain.

Another major learning experience has been adapting to the constantly changing real estate market. Interest rates shift, inventory changes, buyer needs evolve, and every client’s situation is different. Even with my background in mortgages, real estate moves fast, and I had to learn how to navigate real-life situations with confidence, strategy, and flexibility. Those experiences taught me how to stay calm under pressure, think critically, and always focus on solutions instead of problems.

One of the biggest growth areas for me was learning how to balance the emotional side of this business. Buying or selling a home is one of the most emotional and important decisions people make. Clients can come into the process feeling excited, overwhelmed, nervous, or even fearful. I had to learn how to not only educate and guide them, but also create a sense of peace, reassurance, and confidence throughout the journey.

At the same time, balancing entrepreneurship, motherhood, personal growth, and life responsibilities definitely required sacrifice and strong time management. Being a mother taught me how to pivot, stay resilient, and lead with compassion—skills that now help me tremendously in business and in serving my clients.

Looking back, every challenge strengthened my faith, sharpened my skills, and reminded me why I’m so passionate about what I do. The road may not have always been easy, but every obstacle helped prepare me to better serve others and create meaningful experiences for the families I work with.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Tabitha Canty Realty?
My brand is built around more than just real estate—it’s built around helping people create better lives, stronger foundations, and opportunities for generational wealth.

I’m Tabitha Canty, a proud mother, Metro Atlanta Realtor®, mentor, and advocate for families who want more for themselves and their future. I specialize in residential real estate throughout Douglasville, South Fulton, Carrollton, Palmetto, Fayetteville, and surrounding Metro Atlanta areas, helping buyers, sellers, renters, and investors navigate the market with confidence and clarity.

What sets me apart is that I don’t approach real estate as just another transaction. I genuinely care about the people attached to the process. I understand that buying or selling a home can feel emotional, overwhelming, and sometimes intimidating—especially for first-time buyers, single parents, individuals rebuilding their credit, or people navigating major life transitions such as divorce, career changes, relocation, or starting over after difficult seasons in life.

A large part of my work has been helping people who may have once felt discouraged or unsure if homeownership was even possible for them. I take pride in helping clients rebuild confidence while also helping them create a strategy to rebuild their finances, position themselves for approval, and move toward long-term stability. For many of my clients, the journey is about much more than buying a home—it’s about rebuilding their life and creating a fresh start.

People often say I bring a unique balance of professionalism, strategy, honesty, and heart. I’ll absolutely help you understand down payment assistance programs, negotiate aggressively on your behalf, and make sure you’re making smart financial decisions—but I’ll also pray with you, encourage you, and make sure you never feel alone in the process.

I always say I don’t just “sell homes.” I help people transition into a new chapter of life. Whether that means helping a family stop renting, helping a single mother purchase her first home, or helping a seller maximize the value of their property, I take pride in creating an experience where people feel well informed and empowered.

Beyond real estate, I’m passionate about community impact and family development. I serve on the board of a nonprofit organization that helps furnish and decorate children’s bedrooms for families with disabilities and low-income households. I also enjoy helping parents create systems that make life feel more organized, peaceful, and efficient because I truly believe your home environment impacts every part of your life.

Faith is also at the center of everything I do. I believe with God, all things are possible—and that belief carries into how I serve my clients, run my business, and show up for my community every day.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that people know me for being real. I’m honest, direct, knowledgeable, energetic, and deeply committed to making sure my clients are protected and positioned for success. My clients know I’m going to keep it professional, keep it transparent, and always keep their best interests first.

At the end of the day, I want people to know that my brand is about family, faith, education, empowerment, and helping people build lives they truly love—starting at home.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories takes me all the way back to my roots in Statesboro, Georgia. I’m a country girl at heart, and growing up on a farm surrounded by my mom, grandparents, and great-grandparents was truly something special. At the time, I was the only child, so let’s just say I was very “well-loved.” My dad kept me spoiled with power wheels, go-carts, trampolines—basically anything that involved fun, speed, or me finding a creative way to almost hurt myself.

Some of my favorite days were riding the tractor with my great-grandfather while the adults picked tobacco in the fields. My great-grandmother was the definition of old-school wisdom—she grew fresh herbs and somehow had a home remedy for absolutely everything. Between climbing trees, falling out of them, and climbing right back up again like nothing happened, I stayed outside living my best little country life.

But one memory stands out above all the others.

When I was about 9 years old, my Papa handed me the keys to my Nana’s car [a blue Volvo sedan] and casually told me to drive. Yes… drive. At night. Into town.

Now mind you, I had been racing my go-cart around the yard creating my own little road courses, so in my head I was basically ready for NASCAR. In reality? I was terrified. We drove about five miles into town on a dark two-lane road, and I was driving so slow that a car flew past me like we were standing still. I was gripping that steering wheel with my entire soul. Somehow, we made it safely to our destination—although my Papa definitely drove us back home.

That moment sparked my lifelong love for cars and speed. To this day, I still love driving and performance cars… although I must admit, Atlanta traffic will absolutely make you reconsider leaving the house sometimes.
