Today we’d like to introduce you to Zena Dixon.
Hi Zena, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve wanted a big life since I was a little girl.
Not in the sense of status or things, but in the sense of possibility. I’ve always been deeply curious about what was possible for my life and determined to create something meaningful, impactful, and expansive.
Professionally, I built a successful career in technology while simultaneously becoming a real estate investor and developer during the height of the pandemic. Real estate initially started as a wealth-building strategy, but quickly evolved into something much bigger. I became deeply passionate about helping women better understand ownership, investing, and financial independence in a way that felt approachable and empowering.
That passion led me to create Rosé & Real Estate, a community focused on helping women build confidence, knowledge, and wealth through real estate investing. What started as an intimate event unexpectedly grew into a larger movement of women wanting access to conversations, education, and opportunities they often felt excluded from.
I’m also the Managing Partner of Alkme Construction, where I’ve continued to expand my work into development and construction—spaces where women are still significantly underrepresented. I love the intersection of strategy, design, wealth-building, and creating things that have lasting impact.
At the heart of everything I do is a belief that women deserve big lives—and that ownership, confidence, self-trust, and strategy can help build them.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like many entrepreneurs, my journey has required a tremendous amount of learning, reinvention, and resilience.
Breaking into real estate and construction as a woman came with challenges. There were moments where I had to learn quickly, trust myself before I felt fully ready, and navigate spaces where women are often underestimated. Entrepreneurship also has a way of stretching you personally. It forces you to confront fear, evolve your standards, and become someone new.
Most recently, I’ve been navigating a significant personal health challenge that temporarily required me to pause in ways I never anticipated. For someone deeply connected to building, leading, and showing up for community, this current season has been humbling. It challenged how I define productivity, strength, and success.
At the same time, it has deepened my perspective on resilience, wellness, and what truly matters. I’m learning that ambition and softness can coexist, and that sometimes strength looks like resting, receiving support, and trusting that pauses are not endings.
I’ve learned that growth rarely happens in a straight line. Sometimes becoming requires stillness, recalibration, and the courage to begin again.
We’ve been impressed with Rosé & Real Estate / Alkme Construction, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Rosé & Real Estate is a real estate investing education and financial wellness platform designed to help women build confidence, knowledge, and wealth through ownership. What began as a single event has grown into a community centered around education, mentorship, networking, and approachable pathways into real estate investing. What sets us apart is our focus on both inspiration and execution. We don’t simply encourage women to think differently about wealth—we help them better understand the strategies, resources, and next steps needed to move into action. Whether someone is exploring their first investment or looking to expand their portfolio, our goal is to make real estate feel less intimidating and more possible.
What I’m most proud of is seeing women actually execute. Watching women go from curious to confident, from asking questions to becoming real estate investors, and from feeling intimidated to taking ownership of their financial futures has been incredibly meaningful.
Alkme Construction is a construction and development company focused on bringing residential and investment projects to life through thoughtful planning, execution, and strategic problem-solving.
As Managing Partner, I work at the intersection of real estate, development, and design—helping navigate the complexities of construction, budgeting, and project execution to create spaces with long-term value.
What sets Alkme apart is the continuity we provide. Through Rosé & Real Estate, many women are introduced to real estate investing for the first time, and Alkme often becomes a trusted construction partner for mentees pursuing projects of their own. Helping bridge the gap between education and execution creates a more seamless, supported experience for women navigating real estate and development.
I’m especially proud to represent women in a traditionally male-dominated industry and to show what’s possible when strategy, vision, and execution come together.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I think one of the most essential qualities—whether in business or life—is self-trust.
There are so many moments where you won’t have complete certainty, a perfect roadmap, or permission. I became a real estate investor during the pandemic, entered construction, built a community, and pursued opportunities that many people around me had never done themselves. In many ways, I had to learn to trust myself before I felt fully ready.
I also believe adaptability is essential. Life will challenge your plans. Entrepreneurship, leadership, and even personal growth require you to evolve, pivot, and stay grounded in your vision while remaining flexible in how you get there.
Resourcefulness has also been incredibly important in my journey. I didn’t wait for perfect circumstances—I learned, asked questions, found solutions, leveraged relationships, and figured things out. Sometimes people mistake confidence for certainty, but often confidence is built by moving anyway.
And finally, audacity. I think it takes a certain level of audacity to believe you can build a life bigger than the one you were handed and then actually pursue it.
