Hidden Gems: Meet Brandon Alexander of BJA Realty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Alexander.

Hi Brandon, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Sure. BJA Realty is rooted in a multigenerational family legacy. My grandmother, Barbara J. Alexander, was the first female tax assessor in Fulton County and a pioneer in Atlanta’s real estate scene. She and my father spent decades building a reputation for integrity, public service, and hands-on support for the community, whether helping first-time homeowners or managing properties for established businesses.

In 2016, I reimagined that legacy. I founded BJA Realty with the full support of our longtime clients, carrying forward every relationship while modernizing how we do business. I introduced new tools, digital platforms, and a more consultative approach, without losing the personal touch that built our name.

Today, BJA Realty is known for blending deep local expertise with forward-thinking strategies. We focus on high-value transactions, tailored consultation, and transparent, data-backed decision-making. It’s still personal, but it’s also built for scale.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road, but that’s where most of the growth has come from.

Like any business owner in real estate, I’ve had to navigate market volatility, economic shifts, and the high-stakes nature of client relationships. But building BJA Realty came with its own unique challenges too. Rebranding a legacy business meant balancing respect for tradition with a push toward innovation. That wasn’t always easy, especially when introducing cutting-edge technology to a space that still leans heavily on personal connections.

Another major challenge was scaling without losing the personal touch. Clients had grown used to working directly with my grandmother. I had to earn that same trust, one relationship at a time, while building systems that could handle growth without sacrificing service.

Lastly, as a broker-owner, every decision lands on my desk. From tenant mediation to high-value commercial deals, the emotional and financial stakes are high. But that’s also what keeps me invested in every outcome. It’s not just a transaction, it’s someone’s investment, their next chapter, or their way forward.

So no, not always smooth, but every setback sharpened the strategy, and every win proved we’re on the right path.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
BJA Realty is a real estate firm rooted in legacy and built for modern results. We specialize in residential and commercial property sales, high-value transactions, and tailored consultation services for sellers, investors, and developers across South Atlanta, including Peachtree City, Chattahoochee Hills, Fayetteville, and surrounding areas.

What sets us apart is our hybrid approach: clients work directly with Brandon Alexander, the broker-owner, gaining hands-on expertise and a level of accountability that’s increasingly rare. At the same time, our operations are powered by cutting-edge tools -all designed to make our clients’ experience premium, focused, and more effective.

We’re known for:

Strategic consultation that goes beyond listing advice. We provide real market analysis, pricing insight, and risk-reduction strategies.

Dispute resolution expertise, helping property owners and investors navigate tenant or contractual challenges with professionalism and transparency.

A legacy of trust that dates back to 1977, when Brandon’s grandmother, Barbara Alexander, broke barriers as Fulton County’s first female tax assessor and a community-focused leader in real estate.

What we’re most proud of brand-wise is that our clients don’t just get a transaction, they get a partner. Every service, from marketing to negotiations, is grounded in results, trust, and a legacy of doing things the right way.

If you take one thing away from our brand, let it be this: We don’t chase volume, we build relationships. Every deal is intentional. Every client is a priority. And every outcome reflects the care, strategy, and integrity we bring to the table.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson? Trust is everything, and it’s earned, not assumed.

In real estate, deals rise and fall on relationships. You can have all the data and tools in world, but if people don’t feel seen, heard, and respected, none of that matters.

Early on, I learned that transparency builds trust faster than perfection ever will. Clients don’t expect you to control the market, but they do expect you to show up, communicate clearly, and own the outcome, good or bad. That lesson has shaped everything we do at BJA Realty, from how we structure consultations to how we handle tough negotiations.
