Today we’d like to introduce you to Nedda Elizabeth Gibson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Having spent nearly two decades in healthcare, my heart has always been in healing. For 18 years, I walked the delicate line between modern medicine and holistic practices—recognizing the value in both and weaving them together to treat not just the body, but also the mind and spirit. My journey took a pivotal turn during the pandemic, when I left my corporate healthcare role to launch a rural nursing mobile unit. Our mission was simple but vital: to bring essential care to rural communities across the southeastern United States that had been cut off from healthcare due to closed public transportation routes, financial barriers, and overwhelmed local systems. It was one of the most challenging yet rewarding chapters of my career.
When the need for the mobile unit came to a close, I found myself at a crossroads. I could return to the structured, clinical world of corporate healthcare—or I could finally lean fully into my true calling: holistic healing. I chose the latter. With deep conviction and a leap of faith, I opened Aglow Apothecary and Healing Haven in Columbus, Georgia, 2.5 years ago. Our town had a clear need—limited options for holistic care—and I was determined to help fill that gap. What began as a dream soon blossomed into a vibrant healing hub, made possible by the incredible team of practitioners who have joined me along the way.
At Aglow, we take an interdisciplinary approach to wellness. As a Holistic Medicine Practitioner and Clinical Herbalist, I work with clients using a wide range of modalities including herbal therapy, therapeutic art, hypnotherapy, craniosacral therapy, meditation, nutrition, Reiki, chakra balancing, breathwork, and trauma-informed care. My specialty lies in helping individuals heal both physical and emotional pain, though I work with a wide spectrum of needs. Our team has grown to include medical massage therapists, yoga instructors, a sound therapist, an EFT Tapping Practitioner, a religious trauma specialist, and more. Together, we walk beside our clients as they navigate their healing journeys, meeting them exactly where they are.
But Aglow is more than just a treatment center—it’s a haven. A safe, welcoming space where people can heal, connect, learn, and grow. My passion for creating such a space is rooted in my own story. I am an abuse survivor. I know firsthand the pain of suffering in silence and the power of having even one person extend a hand in support. Aglow is my way of offering that hand to others—of creating the kind of healing resources I so deeply needed during my own most painful seasons.
In addition to our treatments and therapies, Aglow also hosts regular workshops on everything from self-care and herbal medicine to meditation, DIY remedies, art, spirituality, and more. Our retail space is an extension of our healing philosophy—offering loose-leaf teas, natural skincare, crystals, incense, pet care, plants, handmade goods from local artists, and thoughtfully curated books and decor. Every corner of our space is designed to nurture the senses and support holistic living.
Beyond the walls of Aglow, I work one-on-one with clients both nationally and internationally, guiding them through their unique healing paths. Whether in-person or across the globe, my mission remains the same: to help people reconnect with themselves, find peace in their bodies, and reclaim their joy. Aglow is a labor of love, born from pain, purpose, and passion—and I am deeply honored to be part of every story that walks through our doors.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overall, we have been incredibly blessed. There are always little obstacles to overcome and bumps in the road as a small business owner, but we have learned to be very resourceful and continue to find ways to serve and grow. The community has been incredibly supportive of what we do, and I have the best team of staff and practitioners to meet any challenges that arise as we go.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Helping those in pain (both physical and emotional pain) is my passion. Aglow was created to be a safe, welcoming space where people can heal, connect, learn, and grow. My passion for creating such a space is rooted in my own story. I am an abuse survivor. I know firsthand the pain of suffering in silence and the power of having even one person extend a hand in support.
