Hidden Gems: Meet Raven Simone of Little Mixxy Beverage Cart

Today we’d like to introduce you to Raven Simone.

Hi Raven, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m Raven Simone, a Chicago native who relocated to Atlanta over 12 years ago. My professional background originally began in early childhood education, but my career journey eventually led me into the food and beverage industry, where what began as a waitressing job evolved into over 11 years of experience in hospitality.

Throughout my career, I progressed from server to bartender to management, working in some of Atlanta’s most sought-after restaurants and luxury hotel brands. Along the way, I developed a deep understanding of both the creative and operational sides of the business. I gained hands-on experience in inventory management, supplier sourcing, cost control, pricing strategies, and menu engineering, skills that allowed me to balance creativity with profitability while delivering high-quality guest experiences.

The concept for Little Mixxy was born from both passion and inspiration. While creating a TikTok cocktail series that reimagined food and dessert dishes as cocktails using real ingredients and infused flavors, I developed the name “Little Mixxy.” Shortly after, while on vacation, my business partner, Danielle McCray, and I saw a vintage Italian Piaggio scooter being used as a mobile pizza concept. That moment sparked an idea.

We began thinking about inefficiencies we’d seen in hospitality, long bar lines, slow service, and missed opportunities to elevate the guest experience. We asked ourselves what if we could create a mobile bar that was not only functional, but interactive, seamless, and visually elevated?

From that idea, Little Mixxy Beverage Cart was created, a mobile tap bar designed to bring a luxury, streamlined beverage experience to events of all kinds. Our concept focuses on efficiency, customization, and aesthetic appeal, offering curated drink menus, self-serve or staffed tap systems, and a visually striking setup that enhances any event environment.

Since officially launching in late summer 2025, Little Mixxy has had the opportunity to work with notable brands and events across Atlanta, including Château Élan Winery & Resort’s 27th Annual Vineyard Fest, Morehouse College’s Presidential Brunch and Tailgate, Cousins Properties, Modern Luxury Weddings, Solis Kennesaw (RPM Living Properties), Pointe Grand Communities, and Hotel Phoenix Atlanta, among others.

Today, Little Mixxy continues to grow as a go-to beverage experience for private events, corporate activations, weddings, and brand launches, built on a foundation of hospitality expertise, innovation, and a commitment to creating memorable experiences, while continuing to expand our brand and create new experiences within the hospitality and event industry.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was transitioning from a traditional career path into entrepreneurship and learning how to build a business from the ground up. Starting Little Mixxy required balancing creativity with the operational side of business – from funding, inventory management, and sourcing equipment to pricing services correctly and building brand awareness in a competitive market.

Another challenge was navigating the logistics of a mobile beverage business, especially learning the ins and outs of event coordination, staffing, and creating systems that could scale as the company grew. There were also moments of self-doubt and uncertainty, especially in the early stages, but those experiences ultimately helped build resilience and confidence as a business owner.

Like many entrepreneurs, there were sacrifices involved, long hours, reinvesting back into the business, and wearing multiple hats at once. However, every obstacle became a learning experience that helped shape the vision for Little Mixxy and pushed the brand to continue evolving and expanding.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
