Hidden Gems: Meet Shellyann Vassel of Faceted Skynn Holistic Beauty Bar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shellyann Vassel.

Hi Shellyann, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey hasn’t been a straight line-it’s been one of growth, healing, and rediscovering who I am. I started Faceted Skynn from a place of passion and necessity. I’ve always been drawn to skincare and helping others feel confident, but there was a time in my life where I didn’t feel that confidence within myself. I went through a period where I felt unseen and disconnected from my own beauty, and that experience really shaped how I show up today. As I began healing and rebuilding, I poured that energy into something meaningful. What started as creating natural products and working from a small space grew into something much bigger-a brand rooted in self-care, confidence, and transformation. Becoming a licensed esthetician allowed me to take that passion even further, helping clients not just improve their skin, but reconnect with themselves.
Today, Faceted Skynn Holistic Beauty Bar represents more than skincare-it’s about creating an experience where people feel seen, valued and beautiful in their own skin. Whether it’s a facial, a product or a conversation, my goal is always the same:to help others feel the glow from within.
I’m still growing, still evolving, and still learning how to fully embrace my own journey. But where I am today is a place of purpose, confidence, and intention-and I’m proud of how far I’ve come.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges was rebuilding my confidence after going through a difficult and unhealthy relationship that impacted how I saw myself. For a while, I struggled with self-doubt and feeling like I wasn’t enough, which made it hard to fully step into my purpose.
On top of that, building a business comes with its own challenges-figuring things out in my own, staying consistent, and pushing forward even when things felt uncertain. There were moments where I questioned myself, but I knew I wanted more for my life.
What kept me going was my desire to grow and create something meaningful-not just for myself, but for others. Over time I turned those challenges into motivation. They shaped me into someone who is more confident, more intentional, and more aligned with my purpose. Now, I see every obstacle as part of my journey. It didn’t break me—-it helped build the woman and business owner I am today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
FacetedSkynn Holistic Beauty Bar is a skincare brand rooted in confidence, healing, and intentional self-care. I specialize in results-driven facials that are designed to not only improve the skin but also create a relaxing, luxury experience for each client.
What sets my brand apart is my holistic approach to skincare. I focus on using natural, nourishing ingredients while also addressing the deeper connection between skin, stress, and overall well-being. My goal is for every client to leave not just glowing on the outside, but feeling renewed and confident within.
In addition to my services, I also create natural skincare products that support healthy skin and encourage consistent self-care routines at home. Everything I do is centered around helping people feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful in their own skin.
What I’m most proud of is building a brand with purpose-one that was created from personal growth and now helps others rediscover their confidence. I want people to know that Faceted Skynn is more than a service, it’s an experience rooted in self-love, healing, and transformation.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I’ve learned that finding a mentor and building meaningful connections starts with simply putting yourself out there. For me, networking wasn’t always comfortable, but I’ve grown by attending events, connecting with like-minded individuals, and being open to learning from others who are ahead of me.

What has worked well for me is being genuine and intentional. Instead of trying to impress people, I focus on building real relationships and being open about where I am in my journey. I’ve found that mentorship doesn’t always come in a formal way-it can come through conversations, shared experiences, and being in the right environments.

My advice would be to stay consistent, be willing to step outside of your comfort zone, and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Growth comes from being around people who inspire you, challenge you, and support your vision.
