Hi Sushanth, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Sushanth’s professional foundation was laid at Kennesaw State University, where he graduated with a degree in Political Science. While a PolySci background often leads to law or public service, Sushanth applied those analytical and interpersonal skills to the world of risk management.

He entered the insurance industry in 2007, starting at Nationwide. This period served as his “proving ground,” where he mastered the complexities of underwriting, claims, and the fundamental mechanics of personal and commercial insurance.

After seven years of honing his craft within a major carrier, Sushanth made the leap into agency ownership. In 2014, he opened his own Farmers Insurance agency. This transition shifted his focus from corporate operations to community-based advisory.

As a Farmers agent, he spent eight years building a reputation for reliability, helping families and businesses navigate the often-confusing landscape of coverage. This era was critical in developing his philosophy that insurance shouldn’t just be a transaction, but a personalized strategy.

By 2022, Sushanth recognized that his clients needed more flexibility than any single insurance carrier could provide. To offer truly unbiased advice and a wider array of products, he transitioned away from the captive model to launch Beesam Agency Brokerage.

As an independent brokerage, his firm now has the freedom to shop the entire market—including carriers like Travelers, Safeco, and Progressive—ensuring that every client gets a custom-tailored plan rather than a “one-size-fits-all” policy.

Today, Sushanth leads Beesam Agency Brokerage with the same grit he had back in 2007, but with nearly two decades of industry wisdom. His journey from a PolySci grad at Kennesaw State to a premier independent broker in Georgia is a testament to his dedication to the “long game” of professional excellence.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Opening Beesam Agency Inc. in 2022 wasn’t just about filing paperwork; it was about betting on a vision of a more personalized, reliable insurance experience. While we’ve seen incredible growth, the road has certainly had its share of potholes.

Starting an agency in 2022 meant walking straight into one of the most challenging insurance markets in decades. With inflation driving up repair costs and carriers tightening their guidelines, the struggle wasn’t just finding clients—it was finding the right “home” for them. We had to work twice as hard to secure the competitive rates our clients deserved.

To compete with the giants, I knew we had to be agile. The struggle in the first year was the “digital plumbing”—integrating the right CRM, comparative raters, and communication tools so that we could spend less time on data entry and more time on advocacy. There were late nights where the “broker” in me wanted to sell, but the “CEO” in me had to stay up and fix the workflows.

In a sea of independent brokers, the struggle was defining what makes us different. We didn’t want to be just another place to get a quote; we wanted to be a risk management partner. Pivoting our messaging from “saving money” to “protecting your future” took time and consistent effort to resonate with our community.

When it’s your name on the door, every renewal feels personal. In the early days, if a client saw a rate hike they didn’t like, I took it home with me. Learning to balance that deep empathy for the client with the reality of market shifts has been one of my biggest areas of personal growth as a leader.

We’ve built a solid foundation in personal lines and general business, but our future lies in deep specialization. We are currently developing dedicated “desks” for niche industries like Real Estate Development, Hospitality (specifically hotels), and Logistics. By becoming the absolute authorities in these sectors, we can offer risk mitigation strategies that a generalist simply can’t match. We are constantly looking to broaden our “appetite.” A major focus for 2026 is securing even more elite appointments with national and regional carriers. This means more options for our clients, especially as the market continues to shift. Whether it’s a coastal property or a complex fleet of vehicles, I want the Beesam Agency to be the one stop shop that never has to say “we can’t find a market for that.” As we scale, I’m planning more local engagement. I want the Beesam name to be synonymous with financial literacy in our community. We’re looking at hosting seminars on risk management and insurance education helping people understand that insurance is a tool for wealth preservation, not just a monthly bill.
