Inspiring Conversations with Arjun Sethi of Xtrahotdjs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arjun Sethi.

Hi Arjun , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been around music for pretty much my whole life. As a kid, my weekends were spent helping my dad lug heavy CD cases and gear into events. At the time, I didn’t realize those long days were laying the foundation for what I’d eventually do myself. By 15, I was already DJing weddings, learning on the fly how to read a room, keep a dance floor moving, and handle the pressure that comes with being responsible for the energy of an entire event.

More recently, I’ve started diving into music production, and it’s opened up a completely new creative outlet for me. Turning an idea into a finished track is both exciting and humbling, and it’s given me a deeper appreciation for the music I play. It’s crazy to think it all started with carrying CD cases for my dad. Every setback, every late night, every friendship, and every opportunity helped shape the path that brought me here.

These days, whether I’m behind the decks or working on a new song in the studio, it feels like I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. I’ve been fortunate enough to achieve goals that once felt out of reach, but I still have plenty of dreams left to chase. One of the biggest is performing at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. It’s a venue I’ve admired for years, and the thought of sharing my music in a place that iconic continues to motivate me to keep growing as both a DJ and producer.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been easy. The late nights, long drives, and weekend gigs meant missing birthdays, family gatherings, holidays, and plenty of moments with people I cared about. There were times when I questioned where I was headed and whether the sacrifices were worth it. Like a lot of people chasing something they love, I got lost along the way more than once.

But music always gave me a reason to keep going. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to perform at venues I used to dream about playing, meet incredible people, and build friendships that have become one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. Looking back, those connections made every challenge feel worthwhile.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
. Our company was built from my dad Bobby’s passion for music and entertainment. As one of the first Indian DJs in the Atlanta area, he helped pave the way for many others in the community, including me, to pursue careers in music and live events. What started as a small operation providing speakers, basic lighting, and DJ services has grown into a full-scale event production company serving clients throughout the region.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of producing countless weddings, private events, corporate functions, conventions, and cultural celebrations. As the industry evolved, so did we. Today, we offer complete event production services, including professional audio, LED video walls, intelligent lighting, custom dance floors, staging, special effects, and event design solutions that help bring our clients’ visions to life.

What sets us apart is that we’re still a family-driven business built on relationships, reliability, and a genuine love for what we do. For us, every event is personal. We understand that whether it’s a wedding, corporate event, or celebration, it’s often one of the most important days in someone’s life. That mindset has allowed us to build lasting relationships with clients and earn their trust for decades.

What I’m most proud of is the legacy my dad created. He turned a passion for music into a business that has impacted thousands of events and inspired the next generation, including myself, to continue that journey. Even today, he’s still out there leading the company with the same dedication and work ethic that started it all. We have no plans of slowing down. Our goal remains the same as it was from the beginning: to create unforgettable experiences through music, production, and entertainment while continuing to raise the bar for what’s possible at live events.

What are your plans for the future?
Looking ahead, I want to continue pushing the boundaries of what I can accomplish as an artist. Like many of my peers in the industry, my goal is to take this passion to the highest level possible and build a career that reaches far beyond my hometown. Whether that’s performing in new cities, connecting with people through my music around the world, or one day earning recognition like a Grammy, I’m excited by the possibilities that lie ahead.

Right now, my focus is on growth—both creatively and professionally. I’m dedicating myself to learning, improving my production skills, and creating music that genuinely connects with people. Every track I make is another step forward in that journey. My creativity is what drives me, and I trust it to lead me toward new opportunities and experiences.

No matter where this path takes me, one thing that will never change is my appreciation for Atlanta and the community that helped shape me. Music has given me so much, and I hope to use whatever success comes my way to give back to the city that raised me, support the next generation of artists, and continue contributing to the culture that inspired me in the first place.
