Today we’d like to introduce you to Benjamin Nelson.
Hi Benjamin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Faithful General Construction was created from both experience and purpose.
Benjamin Nelson entered the construction industry with a desire to learn, serve, and build something meaningful. Starting from the ground up, he gained hands-on experience working on a variety of projects and quickly developed a strong understanding of what it takes to run a job the right way, not just technically, but ethically.
Through years of working in the field, Benjamin realized that many clients were frustrated by poor communication, missed expectations, and a lack of accountability. He felt called to create something different, a company that reflected strong values, honest work, and genuine care for the people behind each project.
That calling became Faithful General Construction. Built on faith, integrity, and consistency, the company has grown through word of mouth and trusted relationships. Today, Benjamin leads with the same principles he started with, delivering quality construction services while staying committed to serving clients with excellence and respect.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a completely smooth road, but every challenge played a role in shaping both the business and the person behind it.
In the beginning, one of the biggest struggles was balancing faith in the vision with the realities of building something from the ground up. There were financial pressures, long hours, and seasons of uncertainty where growth felt slow and responsibilities felt heavy. Benjamin often found himself learning through experience, making mistakes, adjusting, and trusting God to guide each step.
There were also challenges in finding the right people to work with, building trust with clients, and creating systems that could support growth without sacrificing quality.
Through it all, those moments of difficulty strengthened his leadership, deepened his faith, and clarified the mission of Faithful General Construction, to operate with integrity, perseverance, and excellence, even when the road is not easy.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Faithful General Construction is more than a construction company, it is a purpose-driven brand built on faith, integrity, and service.
We provide general construction, renovation, and remodeling services for residential and commercial clients, focusing on quality workmanship and a seamless client experience. From small upgrades to larger projects, our goal is always the same, to deliver results that reflect excellence and care.
What sets us apart is our foundation. The name Faithful is not just branding, it represents how we operate. We are committed to honesty, accountability, and treating every client with respect. In an industry where communication and trust can often be lacking, we prioritize transparency, consistency, and follow-through.
Brand-wise, what we are most proud of is the trust we have built within our community. Our business has grown primarily through word of mouth, which speaks to the relationships we form and the impact we leave behind.
We want readers to know that Faithful General Construction is not just about completing projects, it is about serving people well, honoring commitments, and building something meaningful through our work.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, he was always hands-on, practical, and naturally curious. He had a quiet determination about him and a strong work ethic that showed up early in life. He was the kind of person who enjoyed figuring things out, fixing what was broken, and creating things from scratch.
He was born in Jamaica, where he worked as a carpenter for many years. Building was not just a job for him, it was part of who he was. Over time, he developed a reputation for being reliable, resourceful, and skilled with his hands, someone people could depend on when something needed to be done right.
After getting married, he made the decision to migrate to the United States in search of greater opportunity. He first settled in New York, where he worked in carpentry within hotels and also in housekeeping. No matter the role, he approached every job with the same mindset, show up, work hard, and take pride in the outcome.
Eventually, he moved to Georgia, where he became known as the go-to fixer, the person people called when they needed something repaired, built, or improved. He has always had a natural ability to see potential in spaces and bring ideas to life. Creating, building, and solving problems has always been at the core of who he is.
