Today we’d like to introduce you to Chiquita Russaw.
Hi Chiquita, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Chiquita Russaw, founder of Vision Impact Solutions, Business Development Strategist, and Executive Director of MBP Helping Hands, I’ve always believed that vision alone is not enough. People need structure, strategy, and clarity to truly grow.
My journey started with recognizing a gap. Early in my career as a grant writer, I realized many businesses and nonprofits were not missing out on funding because they lacked passion or good ideas they were missing opportunities because they lacked structure, systems, and clarity. Before I could even begin writing grants, I often found myself organizing operations, fixing foundational paperwork, and helping founders understand what they were truly building.
That realization changed the direction of my career.
One of the defining moments in my journey came when I worked with a local T-shirt brand that wanted to create community impact but lacked organizational structure. I helped guide them through transitioning into a fully structured nonprofit, and that foundation later positioned them to secure a major grant. Seeing that transformation showed me firsthand that clarity creates opportunity.
What began as grant writing evolved into something much bigger business development, organizational strategy, and helping visionaries turn ideas into sustainable organizations. That journey led me to create Vision Impact Solutions, where I now work with entrepreneurs, small businesses, and nonprofits to help them become structured, scalable, and funding ready.
I also serve as the Executive Director of MBP Helping Hands, a nonprofit organization focused on youth development through sports, education, life skills, and community initiatives. Through both organizations, I’ve been able to combine strategy with service while creating impact in business and throughout the community.
Recently retired from the federal government after 25 years of service, I also spent years working as a government contract specialist, which strengthened my expertise in operations, compliance, organization, and strategic planning. Those experiences continue to shape the way I lead and support others today.
Beyond business, I’m deeply family-oriented. I’m a proud small business owner, “Super MOM”, and “World’s Greatest Aunt.” Whether I’m building businesses, supporting youth programs, or showing up for family, everything I do is rooted in purpose, service, and legacy.
Today, my mission is centered on helping people build strong foundations that allow them to grow with confidence, credibility, and purpose. I truly believe that when leaders gain clarity and structure, they become unstoppable.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road definitely hasn’t been smooth. Vision Impact Solutions actually started as Your Dream LLC, and in the beginning, I was focused mainly on grant writing. Very quickly, I realized most people weren’t losing opportunities because their ideas lacked value they were losing because their structure wasn’t in place. I couldn’t just write grants. I found myself rebuilding paperwork, correcting filings, organizing operations, and helping founders understand what they were actually building.
One of the biggest struggles was managing expectations. Many clients came in wanting funding immediately, but their foundation wasn’t ready. I had to learn how to communicate the importance of structure, compliance, and clarity even when it wasn’t what they wanted to hear. It taught me how to lead with honesty, not convenience.
Another challenge was capacity. In the early days of Your Dream LLC, I was doing everything myself: consulting, writing, coaching, fixing systems, and educating clients. It forced me to create my own internal processes and boundaries so I could serve people well without burning out.
But every struggle shaped the business. The challenges pushed me to evolve from “just grant writing” into full organizational development. That evolution is what led to the rebrand and expansion into Vision Impact Solution a company built to help leaders get clear, get structured, and get funder‑ready.
We’ve been impressed with Vision Impact Solution, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Vision Impact Solution is a business development and organizational strategy company built on one core mission: helping founders get clear, structured, and funder‑ready. What began as Your Dream LLC and a simple focus on grant writing has grown into a full service that supports entrepreneurs, small businesses, and nonprofits at the foundation level the part of business most people overlook.
I specialize in structure, clarity, and compliance. While many companies focus on branding, marketing, or the “pretty” parts of business, I focus on what actually sustains an organization: systems, documentation, filings, operations, and organizational identity. I’m known for taking overwhelmed founders and helping them build the internal structure they need to qualify for funding, attract partnerships, and operate with confidence.
What sets Vision Impact Solution apart is the depth of the work. I don’t offer surface‑level solutions or quick fixes. I go behind the scenes into the paperwork, the processes, the gaps, and the strategy to help leaders understand what they’re building and why it matters. My approach is hands‑on, detail‑driven, and rooted in clarity. Clients don’t just leave with documents; they leave with understanding.
Brand‑wise, I’m most proud of the transformation my clients experience. Many come to me unsure, unorganized, or stuck. Watching them shift from scattered to structured and then seeing them secure grants, launch programs, or finally feel confident in their business that’s the heart of my brand. Vision Impact Solution represents clarity, credibility, and growth.
For readers, know this:
Your vision is powerful, but it needs structure to stand.
My services are designed to help you build structure whether you’re starting a nonprofit, strengthening a small business, preparing for funding, or simply trying to get organized. I help you put the pieces together so your vision can move from IDEA to IMPACT.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love most about Atlanta is that it’s home in every sense of the word. I’m an original, home‑grown ATL girl born here, raised here, and shaped by this city’s culture, energy, and community. Atlanta has a spirit you can’t duplicate. It’s a place where culture thrives, where people support each other, and where you can feel the heartbeat of possibility everywhere you go!
What I like least? Let me be honest: the traffic. Atlanta traffic will test your patience, your playlist, and your prayer life. But even with that, I wouldn’t trade this city for anything. It’s part of who I am, and it’s the foundation of the work I do today.
