Inspiring Conversations with Eboni Hopkins of Ebene Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eboni Hopkins.

Hi Eboni, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am an Event planner and photographer from a small town called Ashdown Arkansas, I recently moved here to the metro Atlanta area a little more than a month ago. I had been contemplating on the move for a few years now, but within the last six months, I decided to go ahead and relocate to better help my business. Through a tremendous amount of time spent being creative and using my imagination, my creativity is believed to stem from being my mom’s only child, and because it was just me, I had nothing but time to be creative! I spent most of my time by myself, which caused me to be extremely outgoing and eager to show off my creativity whenever I was surrounded by an audience. I have always loved creating new things, in fact one of my biggest accomplishments in life is having the ability to make something out of nothing. When I decided to get into event planning and photography, it provided the perfect opportunity for me to bring my client’s dreams to reality.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I’ve had a few small struggles along the way, at first, I had to learn to balance my business, a full-time job, and being a full-time college student. It wasn’t easy, but I made it happen. One of my biggest struggles starting out was being underpaid. Event planners and photographers put a lot of time and effort into the vision of their clients. And yet sometimes are still underpaid, “they love your work, but they don’t want to pay your prices.” But for the most part, my experience has been smooth. I’m completely open to learning new techniques and listening to those who are more experienced than myself. I have encountered a few obstacles along the way, but that’s normal. I was able to learn from them so that I wouldn’t make the same mistakes the next time.

As you know, we’re big fans of Ebene Events. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
I started an event planning and photography business, which started by assisting close family and friends with setting up events, such as baby showers, birthday parties, graduation parties and etc. As well as I created my own portable photography studio that I can take anywhere, I would like to set up and do any type of photoshoot that my clients request. For my events, I specialize in balloon arches, backdrop setups, party customization, and all forms of party setups. For photography, I offer glamour photoshoots, family portraits, holiday pictures, and business photos. My work ethic definitely sets me apart from others in the industry. Whatever it is that my client request, I make it my duty to get the job done. There is no limit to what can be done. Here at ebene events, the sky is the limit.

Anything in this life is possible. You just need to have faith and trust God. Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
