Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaquita Williams.
Hi Jaquita, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
At 34 years old, I made a decision that would change the trajectory of my family’s future. I wanted to become a homeowner so my children could finish growing up in a home that belonged to us.
I remember sitting down with a lender at Bank of America to discuss purchasing a home. During the conversation, he began asking me questions that sounded like a foreign language: “How many tradelines do you have?” I had no idea what a tradeline was. In that moment, I realized that although I worked hard and paid for everything with cash, I was financially illiterate when it came to credit and personal finance. I had accumulated assets, but my financial house was not in order.
In 2016, a friend asked me if I still wanted to purchase a home. When I told her yes, she sent me information about a credit and financial education service. What immediately caught my attention was not only the opportunity to improve my credit, but also the ability to become a business partner and earn my services for free by helping others. It was a no-brainer.
I got started right away while working in the security industry. Within my first week, I had earned my services for free, received a return on my investment, and was already in profit. More importantly, I gained access to the financial education I had been missing for years. For the first time, I truly understood how credit works, how to build it, budget effectively, save strategically, and leverage financial tools to create long-term stability.
The results were life-changing. I went from a 495 credit score and over $100,000 in student loan debt that negatively impacted my debt-to-income ratio to a 757 credit score and approximately $5,000 remaining in student loan debt. Most importantly, I achieved my goal of purchasing a 5-bedroom, 4-bathroom, 4,500-square-foot home where my children could grow and thrive.
The business itself also created opportunities I never imagined. By applying the budgeting and savings principles I learned through the platform and earning additional income through my business, I was able to save enough money to leave my traditional job in January 2018 and pursue entrepreneurship full-time. Nearly a decade later, that decision continues to pay off. Through economic shifts, market changes, and uncertain times, the need for financial literacy and credit education has remained constant, proving the value and resilience of the work we do.
What began as a personal goal to buy a home became something much bigger. It became about breaking generational cycles. Once I learned what I should have known as a young adult about credit and finances, I made it a priority to teach my children so they wouldn’t have to spend decades learning the lessons I learned the hard way.
Today, nearly nine years later, I continue to help individuals and families across the country become credit educated and financially literate. My passion is helping people understand that credit isn’t just about a score—it’s a tool that can open doors to homeownership, business ownership, financial freedom, and generational wealth. What started as a journey to secure a better future for my own children has evolved into a mission to help others go from credit to closing and create lasting legacies for their families.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not. While I’m grateful for where I am today, the journey has been filled with challenges that tested me both personally and professionally.
One of the most difficult seasons of my life began in 2020. At the time, I was a full-time entrepreneur and had built a successful business helping people improve their credit and financial literacy. Then, almost simultaneously, two major life events occurred.
First, issues arose within my marriage, and I made the difficult decision to leave the marital home that I had worked so hard to purchase for my family. That alone was emotionally devastating because becoming a homeowner had been one of my greatest accomplishments.
Around the same time, my company was temporarily shut down while responding to an FTC investigation regarding allegations that were ultimately resolved. Unfortunately, the timing couldn’t have been worse. As a full-time entrepreneur, my business was my primary source of income, and the interruption created significant uncertainty and financial stress.
Instead of giving up, I adapted. During that period, I joined another company that offered similar financial services and expanded my expertise by becoming a business funding broker. What initially felt like a setback became an opportunity to diversify my knowledge and add another layer of value to the clients I serve.
When the situation was resolved and I returned to my original company, I found myself essentially starting over. I had to rebuild my client base, rebuild my team, and rebuild momentum while simultaneously navigating a divorce that was finalized in 2022. As part of that process, I ultimately lost the home that had once represented the realization of a dream.
To be honest, that season took a tremendous toll on me. The combination of personal loss, professional uncertainty, and starting over from scratch led me into one of the darkest periods of my life. For a while, I lost sight of who I was. I didn’t have the same passion for leading, serving others, or showing up as the person people had come to know.
What helped me find my way back was my faith, my determination, and my children—especially my daughter, who needed me to keep going. It wasn’t an overnight process. It took nearly two years of healing, self-reflection, prayer, and rebuilding to rediscover my purpose and regain my confidence.
Looking back, those experiences taught me that success isn’t measured by how high you climb; it’s measured by your ability to get back up when life knocks you down. Today, I serve my clients from a place of lived experience. I understand setbacks, starting over, and rebuilding because I’ve had to do it myself. That perspective has made me a stronger leader, a better mentor, and a more compassionate advocate for the people I serve.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Abundant Virtual Services, LLC?
At the core of my business, I help individuals, families, and entrepreneurs bridge the gap between where they are financially and where they want to be. While many people initially come to me for credit education and credit restoration services, what I truly specialize in is helping people build strong financial foundations through education, strategy, and access to the right resources.
My platform allows me to provide a wide range of financial empowerment services, including credit education, credit restoration support, debt management strategies, budgeting and savings education, tax preparation and tax planning, financial literacy coaching, business funding solutions, and guidance for major milestones such as homeownership and business ownership. My goal is not simply to help someone increase a credit score or file a tax return—it’s to help them understand how all the pieces of their financial life work together.
What sets me apart is that I don’t teach theory—I teach from experience. Everything I share with my clients is something I have personally lived. I know what it’s like to be financially unaware despite working hard and earning income. I know what it’s like to sit across from a lender and not understand the language of credit. I know what it’s like to overcome debt, rebuild credit, become a homeowner, grow a successful business, and navigate major life challenges while starting over.
Because of those experiences, I connect with clients on a different level. I don’t see people as credit scores, tax returns, or funding applications. I see people with goals, dreams, and families they want to create a better future for. My approach is centered around education because I believe informed people make empowered financial decisions.
One of the things I am most proud of is being able to offer solutions that impact multiple areas of a person’s financial journey. Whether I’m helping a family prepare for homeownership, assisting an entrepreneur with business funding, educating someone about credit, or helping clients maximize their tax strategies, my focus is always on creating opportunities and helping people keep more of the money they work hard to earn.
Brand-wise, I am most proud of the transformations I’ve witnessed over the past nine years. I’ve had the privilege of helping people purchase homes, improve their credit profiles, reduce debt, secure business funding, strengthen their financial habits, and gain confidence in areas that once intimidated them. Watching clients achieve goals they once thought were impossible is what fuels my passion.
I want readers to know that my brand is built on education, empowerment, and legacy. We don’t just focus on one aspect of finances—we help people create a complete financial game plan. My mission is to close the financial literacy gap, equip families with the knowledge they need to succeed, and help people build generational wealth through informed decisions.
At the end of the day, I want people to know that no matter where they are financially today, they have the ability to change their future. With the right education, tools, and guidance, financial transformation is possible, and that’s exactly what my brand is committed to helping people achieve.
Whether someone is trying to buy their first home, start a business, improve their financial habits, file back taxes or simply gain a better understanding of credit, I want them to know that transformation is possible. Your current financial situation does not have to define your future. With the right education, tools, and guidance, you can completely rewrite your financial story.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are several ways people can work with me, depending on where they are in their financial journey.
For individuals and families, I offer guidance and support in areas such as credit education, credit restoration, financial literacy, budgeting, debt management strategies, tax preparation, and homeownership readiness. Whether someone is looking to improve their credit profile, purchase a home, create a financial plan, or simply gain a better understanding of how money works, I enjoy helping people develop a roadmap to achieve their goals.
For entrepreneurs and business owners, I provide access to business funding solutions, financial education, and resources that can help them position themselves for growth. As a business owner myself, I understand the importance of having the right financial foundation and access to capital.
I’m also passionate about educating communities through workshops, seminars, financial literacy events, speaking engagements, and collaborative partnerships. Organizations, churches, schools, community groups, and businesses looking to provide financial education to their members, employees, or audiences are always welcome to connect with me.
For those who share a passion for helping others improve their financial futures, there are opportunities to collaborate professionally and become part of the mission of expanding financial literacy and empowerment in communities across the country.
The best way to support my brand is to share the message. Financial literacy changes lives, and every referral, introduction, shared resource, and conversation helps us reach someone who may be one piece of information away from transforming their future.
Above all, I want people to know that I am approachable. No matter where someone is starting from—whether they have excellent credit, challenged credit, are carrying debt, trying to purchase a home, start a business, or simply learn more about their finances—I believe everyone deserves access to education, resources, and a chance to build the life they envision.
My mission has always been bigger than credit. It’s about helping people create options, opportunities, and generational wealth. If that mission resonates with you, I’d love to connect and see how we can work together. I can be reached at 470-219-4961, also via IG @therealjaquitawilliams (link in bio), FB @JaquitaShanell
