Today we’d like to introduce you to Jayshil Dantara.
Hi Jayshil, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey has always been rooted in a strong work ethic and a desire to build something of my own. I come from a background where I learned early on the importance of consistency, customer relationships, and thinking long-term. Before starting Brix & Stones Pizzeria, I gained experience in business and customer-facing roles that helped me understand what it takes to create something sustainable.
In 2022, I decided to take a leap and start Brix & Stones with a clear vision—to bring authentic New York–style pizza to Atlanta while building a brand that people could connect with. Like any new business, the beginning wasn’t easy. We had to learn quickly, adapt daily, and stay resilient through challenges.
One of the turning points in our journey was when we decided to think differently from traditional restaurants. Instead of following the same playbook, we leaned into bold ideas—like launching our 99-cent slice campaign in 2024 and 2025. It was a risk, but it paid off by bringing in a huge customer base and creating strong brand awareness.
Over time, we’ve continued to evolve. Today, we’re focused on elevating the brand with better ingredients, a more refined menu, and a long-term vision of expanding into multiple locations. For me, this journey has been about more than just running a restaurant—it’s about building a brand, creating opportunities, and constantly pushing to grow.
Where we are today is the result of staying consistent, taking calculated risks, and always being willing to adapt. And we’re still just getting started.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all—building Brix & Stones Pizzeria has been anything but a smooth road. Like most growing brands, we’ve had to navigate a lot of challenges, especially in the early stages.
One of the biggest hurdles was establishing ourselves in a highly competitive market. Atlanta has no shortage of pizza options, so standing out required more than just good food—it required bold marketing, consistency, and taking risks that others weren’t willing to take.
Another major challenge was balancing pricing with quality. When we introduced our 99-cent slice campaign in 2024 and 2025, it was a huge hit, but it also required very tight operational control. We had to be extremely strategic with costs, sourcing, and volume to make sure we could deliver value without compromising the brand.
Like any restaurant, we also faced operational challenges—staffing, maintaining consistency during high-volume hours, and adapting quickly to customer feedback. There were moments where demand exceeded expectations, and we had to scale fast without losing quality.
But every challenge shaped us. The 99-cent slice phase helped us build a strong, loyal customer base and gave us valuable insights into what our audience loves. Now, as we evolve into a more premium and sophisticated concept, those lessons are helping us refine our operations, elevate our menu, and position ourselves for long-term growth.
So no, it hasn’t been easy—but every obstacle has played a key role in making Brix & Stones what it is today.
We’ve been impressed with Brix & Stones Pizzeria, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Brix & Stones Pizzeria is more than just a pizza spot—it’s a brand built on creativity, quality, and constantly evolving with our customers. Since launching in 2022, our goal has been to bring authentic New York–style pizza to Atlanta while creating a unique, memorable experience around it.
At our core, we specialize in NY-style pizzas, late-night dining, and bold, culture-driven promotions. We became especially known for doing what others wouldn’t—most notably our 99-cent slice campaign in 2024 and 2025, which no other restaurant in the area was offering at that scale. That move helped us build strong community loyalty and positioned us as a brand that truly understands value and customer engagement.
What really sets us apart is our ability to balance creativity with strategy. From viral social media campaigns to unique in-store experiences, we don’t just sell pizza—we create moments that people want to share. We’ve always believed that great food gets people in the door, but branding and experience are what make them come back.
Today, we are proud to be entering a new phase of the brand. We’ve introduced a refined, elevated menu focused on high-quality ingredients, better sourcing, and more sophisticated flavor profiles. This allows us to cater not only to our loyal customer base but also to a more upscale audience that values premium dining.
Brand-wise, what we’re most proud of is our ability to adapt and grow without losing our identity. From a value-driven, high-volume concept to now evolving into a more premium, scalable brand—we’ve built something that can live in multiple spaces.
What we want readers to know is that Brix & Stones is not just a local pizzeria—it’s a growing concept with a clear vision for expansion. We are actively working toward opening multiple locations, and everything we’re building today—from our menu to our branding—is designed with that bigger picture in mind.
This is just the beginning for us.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is building something meaningful—something that lasts beyond just short-term success. For me, that starts with people, quality, and long-term vision.
First and foremost, I value people and relationships—whether it’s our customers, team members, or community. A business can only grow if the people behind it and the people it serves genuinely believe in it. Creating a place where customers feel welcomed and team members feel valued is something I take very seriously.
Secondly, I’m deeply focused on quality and consistency. No matter how much we grow, maintaining high standards in what we serve and how we operate is non-negotiable. That’s what builds trust, and trust is everything in this industry.
Finally, what drives me every day is the vision of building a scalable, lasting brand. Brix & Stones is not just about today—it’s about where we can take it in the next 5, 10, 20 years. That’s why we’re constantly evolving, improving our menu, and thinking bigger in terms of expansion.
At the core of it all, it comes down to pride—building something we truly stand behind, something our customers love, and something that continues to grow and make an impact.
