Today we’d like to introduce you to Michaiah Dominguez-Brown.
Hi Michaiah , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My career story begins from a place of curiosity during the darkest moments of my first marriage. After withstanding infidelity, financial abuse, and emotional neglect as a stay-at-home mom of three, I enrolled in a Mental Health Counseling M.A. program in search of answers on how to heal a broken home. While there, I studied the art and science of creating and sustaining fulfilling relationships as well as the predictors of divorce. My life came alive in those classrooms and from the pages of those textbooks, I saw the ugliest parts of the marriage reflected back to me. It was then that I realized the importance of psycho-education and made it my personal mission to gather/share as much clinical knowledge as I could to save others from the despairing choice I had to make. From the ashes of divorce, I re-established my identity, pursued my purpose as a psychotherapist, and reclaimed my heart.
Since 2021, I’ve shared my story and expertise on social media platforms, participated in numerous TikTok and Youtube partnerships, have contributed to relationship articles for magazines, and was a host on one of the longest-running reality tv franchises on television, MTV’s Teen Mom Family Reunion. I wholeheartedly believe that these doors were open to me because of my courageousness to break free from toxicity and take a leap of faith into the unknown.
In November of 2022 I entrusted my heart to my current husband (who is the best man in the entire world) and we relocated to Georgia in July of 2023. The road has not been easy behind the scenes with navigating coparenting court battles while mothering out-of-state, but I am confident that it was worth it. Facing my fear, confronting dysfunction, and reclaiming my time was worth it. Setting a healthy example of self-love and self-respect for my sons is worth it. I am worth it. And I make it my business to empower others to believe the same.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My father passed away in August of 2022. He was one of my biggest supporters and he was what anchored me in New York. After his passing, I felt an immense sense of responsibility and urgency to take control of my life. My post-divorce life, up until that point, looked much like the marriage… the power dynamic, the arguments, and fear lingered. At the funeral I knew that I was saying goodbye to more than just my father; I was saying goodbye to the victim role and farewell to the fear of other people’s perception of me. It was time to be free. I quickly learned that freedom comes at a cost and often unfolds in stages. The divorce was just one step, the relocation was another. My worst nightmare of involving the family court system became reality and it has been an uphill battle to face the grief and shame. Through it all, I have been able to rebuild financially, emotionally, and spiritually with the support of my husband and family but the fight continues.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about LIFE Services, Ltd. Co. ?
I opened LIFE Services, my coaching and consulting business, in 2021. It was birthed in my NYC apartment where I hosted virtual calls with clients from across the States, facilitated online workshops, and gave presentations on relationship themes spanning from marriage and family to divorce and self-discovery. My goal was to create a safe space for clients to explore their inner worlds with radical honesty, develop resilience they’ve never known, achieve life-altering transformation, and foster intergenerational breakthrough. By combining empathy with practical strategy and psycho-education, I empowered individuals to navigate life’s challenges with confidence, courageousness, and integrity. In 2023, I expanded the business to the greater metropolitan area as my hub. I continue to provide online coaching offerings, give keynotes, moderate and participate in panels on stages of all sizes.
I’m known for seamlessly weaving personal narratives of love, loss, and rebirth with Christian faith and clinical expertise, creating a unique opportunity for individuals to embark on a journey of healing, clarity, and boldness. I’m most proud of my confidence with communicating to clients and audiences that I am far from perfect, but what I am is something much better… I’m real, I’m honest, and vulnerable about my journey as to inspire those who are ready to step out and do the same.
Therapy services are available to those within New York State, as that is where I am still currently licensed and practicing virtually. However, Georgia licensing is in the works and by the end of summer 2026, I will be offering therapy here as well. Fortunately, coaching is not limited to state lines and I am available for virtual 1:1 and couples coaching to address themes of identity formation; grief and loss; divorce; major life transitions; betrayal; sexuality/pleasure; and faith-based integration.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in luck. I have faith in God that He works all things together for my good. So even when there are moments in life that don’t look good, it simply means that God isn’t done. No pain, no tear, and no lesson will be wasted. For every devastation there was an open door, for every disappointment there was expansion. My life (and my business) is a testimony of the goodness and mercy of God.
