Jessica Isabel Aguilar Ramirez of Roswell on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Jessica Isabel Aguilar Ramirez and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica Isabel, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
The most recent moment that made me feel proud was being able to enjoy my birthday alongside my family in a beautiful, peaceful location away from the busy life we all live. We work full time and go to school, sticking to our daily life schedule doesn’t always let us enjoy trips together as often as we would like. This year it was different, I was gifted a cabin experience in Blue Ridge. Those few days away, under the stars and burning firewood smell filled me with so much joy.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Jessica, CEO and founder of J3ssicuhsart! A creative brand born from a passion for art that heals, transforms, and connects. My work is guided by spirit and dedicated to spreading positivity and inspiration. Beyond my artwork, I help artists and businesses grow through intentional design, crafting flyers, websites, and visual tools that bring their purpose to life. I have assisted in projects that supported the beginning of somebody’s vision coming to life. This creative process has brought me both success and peace of mind. The foundation of J3ssicuhsart is built on my roots, on the stories of perseverance and sacrifice my parents shared. They left everything behind to give my family a better life, teaching me the value of resilience and determination. That experience inspired me to support others on their journeys. I understand how challenging it can be to build something from the ground up, and that’s why I’m passionate about helping others shape their ideas into reality. At J3ssicuhsart, I help identify the message, the goal, and the heart behind a business, guiding clients toward success with color, creativity, and belief. Because everyone deserves someone who believes in their potential.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents taught me the most about work. My dad learned masonry and built his own company from the ground up, while my mom dedicated herself to raising me and my siblings. Growing up, I watched them face both the highs and lows that came with running a business and raising a family. No matter the challenges, they never stopped pushing forward. Their strength and perseverance showed me what true dedication looks like, and I carry those lessons with me every day as I work to build a life from the opportunities their sacrifices made possible.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
Once I began stepping into my power, I started attracting opportunities that truly aligned with my goals. Grief and trauma had been blocking my creativity, keeping me stuck in a place of comfort and hesitation. I finally grew tired of putting my dreams aside and decided to take a leap. I submitted my work to an open call for local artists in the city where I grew up. When I received a follow-up, I felt an overwhelming sense of joy and readiness to dive into the project.

The creative process became healing, it helped me release my worries and reignited my motivation to pursue art and help others. That experience opened doors I never imagined I’d walk through. Today, I continue walking in my power, using my journey to inspire and help others step into theirs within their own paths and businesses.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
A belief I’m committed to, is to live my life passionately and fully. After my mother passed, I faced moments of fear and distraction that made me question my path. But over time, I learned to discern right from wrong, something she always emphasized, and not to let those fears hold me back. She also taught me the importance of supporting others in need, and that’s something I’ve become more intentional about ever since.

I promised myself to explore, create, and embrace everything this life has to offer, carrying her wisdom with me along the way. Her passing wasn’t a loss, it was a new beginning. It awakened something in me and reminded me how precious this life truly is. Her spirit continues to guide me through every experience and every challenge. When I travel, create art, or take a leap toward something new, I feel her spirit, her warmth, flowing through me. Living this way is my way of honoring her legacy and keeping her spirit alive. It reminds me that love, purpose, and creativity don’t end with loss, they transform into the energy that keeps us growing, creating, helping others, and moving forward with grace.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
There will always be misunderstandings, and often that’s because people can only meet you as deeply as they have met themselves. Everyone views the world through the lens of their own experiences, and when life hasn’t been kind or expansive to someone, their perceptions can become limited by those wounds. In those moments, it’s easy for others to project their own beliefs and fears onto you, to misunderstand your intentions, your craft, or your path.

But it’s important not to lean into those projections or let them define you. If you truly believe in yourself and the integrity of your work, those misunderstandings won’t shape your reality, they’ll simply remain reflections of others internal landscapes. I’ve learned to see this with compassion, and that understanding has brought me more peace than I once knew. Misunderstandings are an inevitable part of being human, but allowing them to dictate how we see ourselves or others only creates heaviness and blocks growth. When we hold firm in our authenticity, we create space for clarity, positivity, and genuine understanding to take root.
