We recently had the chance to connect with Brittany Stephenson and have shared our conversation below.
Brittany, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are all about grounding myself. I start by praying and thanking God for another day, which helps set my mindset in gratitude. From there, I focus on positivity—speaking life over my day and centering my thoughts. That quiet time sets the tone for everything that follows. And then it’s coffee!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Britt, founder of In The Mixx With Britt, a mobile bartending brand that brings great energy, creative cocktails, and a personalized touch to every event. I specialize in crafting unique drink experiences that match each client’s vibe, whether it’s a wedding, party, or corporate event. What makes In The Mixx With Britt stand out is the level of professionalism, consistency, and intentionality behind every drink and every event. I focus on delivering high-quality service, signature flavors, and a smooth guest experience that’s all in the mix from start to finish. I make sure every event feels elevated and memorable. My goal is to leave guests with an experience they’ll talk about long after the last pour.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My daughter, Mylee saw me clearly long before I ever learned to. In her eyes, I wasn’t defined by stress, mistakes, or expectations—I was simply her safe place, her comfort, her constant. She saw strength in me when I felt tired, patience in me when I felt stretched thin, and love in me even on the days I didn’t give myself any grace. The way she looked at me from the moment I gave birth until now, reminded me of who I truly am at my core, and her belief in me helped shape the version of myself I’ve finally learned to embrace.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me things success never could—like resilience, humility, and the power of starting again. It showed me what truly matters, who truly cares, and how strong I really am when everything else falls away. Success feels good, but struggle shapes character, deepens faith, and forces growth in ways comfort never will. It taught me to appreciate the light because I survived the dark.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes—the public version of me is the real me because I’ve always vowed and learned to show up as my true, authentic self. What you see is genuinely who I am: honest, grounded, and growing. What people see is the same person I am behind closed doors: honest, intentional, faith-led, and still learning. Being authentic has become my strength—it allows me to move confidently, build genuine connections, and stand in my truth without fear of judgment. Choosing authenticity has given me a freedom that pretending never could.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I understand deeply that healing isn’t a straight line—and most people don’t realize how much patience, self-grace, and inner work it really takes. I’ve learned that your peace is something you have to protect intentionally, even from your own old habits. I also understand that growth often happens quietly, in the moments no one sees, long before the results ever show. And because of that, I move through life with more compassion—for myself and for others who are still finding their way.
