Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Dub Bulloh of Atlanta

We recently had the chance to connect with Dub Bulloh and have shared our conversation below.

Dub, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I’m currently working on a secret project that not too many people know about. I work on this project daily and it gives me great joy to see the constant growth.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
What’s up it’s Dub Bulloh! I’m a songwriter, rapper, producer, and music engineer. I began my professional music career in 2011. I have amassed millions of streams from the albums and singles I have released.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
I would have to say I learned the most about work from my dad. He was an entrepreneur my whole life. To watch him go to work everyday of the year, for years really had a profound impact on me. I even worked with him during my adolescent years. He taught me the value of being dedicated to your craft and committing yourself to your task. I’ve never seen any man work harder than my dad and I probably never will.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
In 2011, I was about to pivot, not give up. Instead of rapping I was going to turn my attention to managing another artist. Before I could make the decision to, Pandora Radio accepted my music on their platform, and I began to focus extremely hard on how to expand my musical career.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes and No. I share what I don’t mind people knowing. It’s a lot more to me than what’s on social media. I don’t feel it’s necessary to give social media 100% of me, because what would I have left for me? The people that really know me, know me and I’m perfectly fine with that.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Of course, no matter if I’m washing dishes or mixing my next big song, I give everything my best. It’s nice to hear that you’ve done well but it doesn’t affect the effort I give.
