Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Iniki Bryan of Riverdale

Iniki Bryan shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Iniki, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I believe that I am being called into the world of Youtube and content creating.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Iniki Bryan, I was born April 23rd, 1993, I am currently 32 years “young(ish)” and I am a crafts(wo)man of The Lord. I got into epoxy resin back in April of 2019, and I’ve recently gotten into clay work as of October 2025 I believe that what makes my artwork unique is because, each piece tells a story of struggle, pain & trauma–but also shows the true redeeming power of God. The reason I feel so convicted about creating to tell my story is because I know that through my testing, I’ve received my testimony; so that I may be able to encourage the masses. As far as what I’m currently working on; well, you all will just have to stay tuned to find out.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Man, this is a phenomenal question. Who was I ? The REAL question is who AM I ? I’ve experienced homelessness for 8 years (12/10/16-10/19/25). I’ve lost custody of 5 kids. I have been diagnosed as having Bipolar Disorder, & have struggled with immense bouts of depression. All of which has allowed the world to label me as: a homeless bum, unfit, inadequate, a mental case, etc. Though those labels STILL haunt me to this day; I can only focus on what God says I am. My God says that I am first and not last. I believe in His living word that says; I am the cornerstone that the builders rejected. I am currently in the season of my life that I have been brought completely to the end of myself. I am so fully dependent on God; that I literally drown out the excess noise of the world and the naysayers. I may not know exactly where I am going–however, I know that He has a plan for my life, and they are plans to prosper me and to give me hope and a future, (Jeremiah 29:11) . I don’t know about those other folks, but one thing I know to be certain; is that my God is NOT a man where He should lie, nor the son of man where He should repent. I say all of that to say, it doesn’t matter what lies were told to me, because I am none of those things, and I am STILL here, of sound mind and body, and ALL glory goes to God.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
They’re all liars, and you WILL be great one day. Stay close to God and NEVER, I mean NEVER blaspheme the Holy Spirit; lest you shall perish. You will have many storms, but the waves will not overtake you, (I mean after all you were named after a hurricane). You will shed tears, but take heart in knowing that The hand of God collects each and every tear that has fallen. I love you Iniki, and I am so proud of you baby girl. You made it, and I couldn’t have done it without your resilience and your unwavering faith.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
What you see is what you get. I am quirky, I am “weird”, I am different, I have a funny accent (we are Jamaican), my nose is broad, my lips are quite the eye-grabber, and my skin is that of melted chocolate. I’m a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, and I’m just Iniki (no one special). I’m just a “regular degular shmegular” person.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I don’t care what they say, as long as it’s “no matter what she went through, she never turned her back on God. She had enough common sense despite her refinement and pressing not to curse God or His process and timing”.
