Hi LaQuana “L.APink” & Phillip “Stone”, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
Are unhoused community that gets their own homes
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
THE BACKSTORY OF THE VIOLENCE INTERRUPTERS THE VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS
LaQuana “L.APink” Ramsey & Phillip “Stone” Ramsey
They weren’t born into peace — they were born into the noise.
Before they ever became known as violence interrupters, before their names carried weight in rooms where nobody wanted to speak the truth out loud, LaQuana “L.APink” Ramsey and Phillip “Stone” Ramsey were two people who learned early that survival wasn’t something you were given — it was something you had to fight for.
L.APink — The One Who Refused to Be Silenced
LaQuana didn’t grow up soft. Her world was a battleground long before she stepped into her purpose. She watched too many people fold under pressure, too many voices get quiet when the truth got loud. Trauma tried to shape her, but she flipped the script. Every hardship became a lesson. Every loss became fuel.
The streets gave her a name — “L.APink” — because she was feminine enough to stand out, fierce enough to stand her ground, and strategic enough to stand in rooms where others had to be invited. She learned how to read danger, how to calm storms, and how to navigate chaos without letting it swallow her.
She was never afraid to speak up. And eventually, communities started looking to her when things got too hot for anyone else to touch.
Stone — The Man Who Carried the Weight
Phillip earned the name “Stone” not because he was cold, but because he was solid. Unshakeable. A man who had seen enough violence in his youth to know that nobody wins when the whole block is losing. He grew up understanding the language of anger — the tight jaws, the restless hands, the quick tempers sparked by fear, pride, or pain.
But he also knew how to defuse it.
Stone became the guy people called when tensions snapped tight. He didn’t yell. He didn’t posture. He walked into the heat with a calm that made people put down what they were thinking of picking up. His presence alone could stop a situation from turning deadly.
Two Paths, One Mission
When L.APink and Stone crossed paths, they didn’t just connect — they aligned.
Two people with different histories, but the same story:
Violence took too much from too many people they loved.
And instead of turning bitter, they turned into shields.
Together, they stepped into the role of Violence Interrupters — not because it was safe, not because it was easy, but because they understood the stakes. They walked into conflicts that others avoided. They knocked on doors after midnight. They stood between tempers, between families, between bullets and outcomes.
They became the people who saw danger coming before anyone else did — and intervened before tragedy could write another headline.
The Legacy They’re Building
LaQuana “L.APink” Ramsey and Phillip “Stone” Ramsey aren’t the type to ask for applause. They’re the type who show up, steady and unshaken, because they know their community needs people willing to stand in the gap.
They don’t stop violence with force — they stop it with presence, truth, and accountability.
They don’t just interrupt danger — they interrupt the cycles that create it.
And every life they steer away from trouble is another chapter in a legacy built from grit, pain, and purpose.
TAKING BACK OUR COMMUNITIES THE RIGHT WAY
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
One of the greatest misconceptions about L.APINK & STONE will be the belief that our legacy was born out of conflict or confrontation. In reality, everything we stand for has always been anchored in purpose, accountability, and the unwavering protection of those who have been ignored, dismissed, or silenced. The challenges we raised were never intended to divide — they were intended to illuminate truth, elevate standards, and insist on the dignity every human being is owed.
In time, the narrative will correct itself. People will recognize that our legacy was never defined by tension, but by transformation. L.APINK & STONE represents a legacy built on justice, compassion, and courage — principles strong enough to outlast controversy and shine long after the noise fades. Our work was never about disruption for attention; it was about moving the world closer to what it should have always been.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
People often see the visible actions — the boldness, the advocacy, the pressure — without recognizing the deeper motivation behind it.
A legacy rooted in conviction is not about seeking attention or approval. It is about responsibility, accountability, and following a moral or spiritual directive that isn’t always visible from the outside. What may look like intensity is often discipline; what may seem like confrontation is often clarity and courage.
In the end, the legacy that endures is defined not by public perception but by intention, impact, and faithfulness to a greater purpose.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
When it comes to foundational philosophies, everything begins with faith. The core of this work is guided by God — His peace, His direction, and His purpose. We don’t rely on personal ego or self-made ideas; we rely on divine guidance. Our role is to stay aligned, stay accountable, and follow the path God sets before us. All credit, all clarity, and all strength belong to Him.
