Shweta Arora Bajaj shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Shweta, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I’ve built an identity that feels true to me. Cacao And Crave gave me the courage to show up as myself, honor my roots, and create something meaningful beyond what people see on the surface.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Shweta Arora Bajaj, the founder of Cacao And Crave, an artisan chocolate brand rooted in storytelling, nostalgia, and handcrafted excellence. What began as a creative outlet slowly became my identity – a way to honor my Indian roots while building something meaningful here in Georgia.
At Cacao And Crave, I create small-batch Belgian chocolates that blend classic techniques with Indian-inspired flavors like Chai, Rasmalai, Paan, and Pistachio Rose and also American flavors like Hazelnut coffee, Intense Orange, Butter Pecan Pie and more. Each piece is made by hand, with intention, using thoughtfully sourced ingredients and flavors that spark emotion and memory.
What makes my brand special is that it’s deeply personal. Every bar reflects my journey as an immigrant woman entrepreneur – building confidence, resilience, and a voice through my craft. Cacao And Crave isn’t just about chocolate; it’s about connection, culture, and creating moments of joy through flavor.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was curious, creative, and deeply intuitive. I trusted my instincts without questioning them. I found joy in making things with my hands, expressing myself freely, and believing that my ideas and emotions had value. I didn’t measure myself against expectations or roles – I simply followed what felt natural and meaningful to me.
Over time, responsibilities, societal norms, and expectations shaped me into someone more cautious and self-critical. But at my core, that original version of me still exists – the one who creates from the heart, who believes in possibilities, and who finds purpose in bringing comfort and joy to others. Reconnecting with that part of myself has been a powerful reminder that authenticity, creativity, and passion were always my true strengths.
Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
Yes. I remember a time when someone listened to me without trying to fix me, judge me, or rush me. They simply gave me space to speak and let my feelings exist as they were. In that moment, I felt seen and validated in a way I hadn’t before. It reminded me how powerful it is to be heard – not for solutions, but for understanding.
That experience stayed with me. It taught me the importance of listening with empathy and presence, and it shaped the way I now show up for others. Sometimes, being truly heard is what gives us the strength to keep going.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I am deeply committed to building a life and body of work rooted in authenticity, care, and meaning rather than speed or external validation. I believe that anything truly lasting – whether it’s a business, a relationship, or personal growth – takes time, patience, and consistency.
I am committed to creating with intention, honoring quality over shortcuts, and staying aligned with my values even when progress feels slow. I trust that showing up honestly, learning along the way, and staying resilient will lead to something meaningful. For me, the journey itself matters just as much as the outcome, and that belief keeps me grounded no matter how long it takes.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I lived with heart, integrity, and intention, and that through Cacao And Crave I created more than just chocolate – I created moments of comfort, joy, and connection. I hope they remember that my work was rooted in authenticity, care, and a deep respect for both tradition and creativity.
Most of all, I hope the story they tell is that I made people feel seen and valued – whether through a conversation, a shared moment, or something I created with my hands. If Cacao And Crave is remembered as a reflection of love, resilience, and thoughtful craftsmanship, and if my presence left even a small sense of warmth or inspiration in someone’s life, that would be the legacy I’m most proud of.
