Today we’d like to introduce you to Keenya Anderson.

Keenya, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
It has always been a dream of mine to be a designer for as long as I could remember. I went through all processes such as attending Fashion Institute of Technology where I gained a degree in design. I started my career right out of college as an accessory designer and I was living my dream. But over the years I had a new outlook on what that dream should be.

In the past few years, I hoped to one day to be able to leave my corporate job and start my own business. After ten years at my corporate job, I finally experienced the moment that convinced me it was time to move on and there was no more room for me to grow in that environment. I didn’t see a future for advancement there for me. It was time to explore my new passions for interior design.

I’ve done a lot of interior decorating projects over the years for friends and family and knew this was the next step for me. I knew that being on my own without a steady paycheck would be challenging. I knew I needed to take the leap of faith and that’s when I decide to create K.N.A Design Decor. Even on the tough days, it feels it’s all been worth it to be able to choose my own work and clients.

I have a long way to go and in some respects, this is only the beginning. But everything feels new and exciting. I’m loving the experience of developing and building my own brand.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No way!! has the road been smooth. I’ve faced a few common challenges along the way, such as finding the correct vendors and funding, but each one has been a learning experience that will help in the long run. Best advice I would give is being realistic and understanding of what you’re getting into. It won’t be easy, and there are many steps in getting it right. But it will be worth it if you stick to your plan no matter what, even when the road is difficult.

Please tell us about K.N.A Design Decor.
K.N.A Design Decor is dedicated to creating interiors that reflect our client’s personality and lifestyle; by creating Great designs, whether personal spaces or commercial properties, beginning with understanding of the clients needs and expectations.

My specialty is a low cost, high style decorating. I’m Skilled at creating beautiful designs under a variety of budgets, styles, time frames, and requirements. We work very hard to find the perfect affordable pieces while still keeping the integrity of the design. Services Includes full-service design, consultation services, and E-design.

I get great pleasure knowing my clients feel like we are bringing their vision to fruition, and I get that sigh of relief when I leave them with their new space. What set us apart is guiding client through every phase of the design process. Bring their vision to life while taking away the stress and complications. Striving to deliver quality design services within their schedule and budget.

Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
My Passion for Design, I believe, is my gift. But part of my passion especially interior decorating, comes from my Mom. When I was a kid, she was always fixing up our home when holiday and springtime roll around. all the rooms in our home had to be updated with new curtains, new bed linens, and rugs. Whatever she thought needed to be updated to create a new space. It was just magical to me how she made a room look new and created a sense of joy with just a few changes. From that, I always wanted to create that feeling you get from being in a well-designed space. To create a sense of peacefulness, excitement, and joy.
