Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Garrett II.

Hi Anthony, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
.My name is Anthony Garrett II, also known as Actor AG and AG2Soul, and my journey really started with a deep desire to express truth through storytelling. Acting wasn’t just something I wanted to do—it became a way for me to understand people, emotions, and ultimately my purpose.

I got my start in acting in 2017, performing in independent stage theater. Within just three years, I had the opportunity to be part of ten independent stage plays and a musical, along with two short films, which really helped me grow quickly as a performer and build my foundation.

In 2019, I landed my first independent film role in “From the Shadows,” which is now streaming on Tubi. That experience showed me the power of film and how impactful visual storytelling can be.

In 2020, I stepped into music. Honestly, it started because my wife encouraged me—she told me I looked more like an artist, and that stuck with me. But truthfully, music had always been in me.

That’s when AG2Soul was born, allowing me to express my faith, emotions, and life experiences in a different way.

By 2023, I began focusing more intentionally on independent film, not just as an actor but as a creator. That’s what led me to build Healing Lives Production, a company centered around inspiring inner change through entertainment. Along the way, I’ve also had the opportunity to work on commercial projects like a Robins Federal Credit Union commercial and a Georgia CASA commercial, which expanded my experience in front of the camera.

Everything I do—whether it’s acting, filmmaking, or music—is rooted in purpose. I’m not just creating content; I’m creating stories that reflect truth, faith, and transformation.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many independent creatives, I’ve faced challenges with limited resources, funding, and opportunities, especially early on when I was trying to build credibility in both acting and film. Balancing life, work, and pursuing my passion required real sacrifice and discipline. There were also moments of doubt—wondering if I was on the right path. But one thing I’ve learned is that when opportunities aren’t coming your way or you’re not fitting the roles available, you have to create your own lane and not limit yourself. That mindset is what pushed me to build Healing Lives Production and take control of my own journey

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As an artist and creative, I work across acting, filmmaking, and music, all centered around one purpose—to inspire inner change through entertainment. I specialize in story-driven, faith-based, and emotionally grounded content that connects with people on a deeper level. Whether I’m performing on screen, creating films, or releasing music as AG2Soul, my goal is always to tell stories that feel real, relatable, and transformative.
As an actor, I’m known for bringing authentic emotion and presence to every role, drawing from real-life experiences to make each character honest and believable. As a filmmaker and founder of Healing Lives Production, I focus on creating projects with purpose—stories that don’t just entertain, but also encourage growth, reflection, and direction in life.
My upcoming short film, “I AM HIM,” is a strong reflection of that vision. It’s a story about identity, struggle, and spiritual awakening, following a young man navigating real-life challenges who ultimately discovers his purpose and connection to God. It represents the kind of storytelling I’m committed to—real situations, real emotion, and a message that leads to transformation.
What I’m most proud of is stepping into ownership of my creativity. Instead of waiting for opportunities, I chose to create my own lane—building a platform through both film and music while staying true to who I am. What sets me apart is that everything I create is intentional. It’s not just about content—it’s about purpose, impact, and changing lives through what I create.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
believe the most important quality to my success is faith and perseverance. Faith keeps me grounded in my purpose and reminds me that everything I’m doing is bigger than me, while perseverance keeps me moving forward even when things don’t go as planned. In this industry, you’re going to face rejection, delays, and moments where opportunities don’t come your way—but I’ve learned that’s not the time to stop, it’s the time to create.

I also believe in not limiting myself. If doors don’t open, I build my own. That mindset, combined with consistency and discipline, has allowed me to grow as an actor, filmmaker, and artist while staying true to my vision and purpose
