Life & Work with Ashley Freeman of Atlanta, GA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Freeman

Hi Ashley, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m Ashley, a 36-year-old content creator originally from Detroit now living in Atlanta after 8 years in the bustling streets of New York. My passion? Fashion. I’m all about helping people in my community discover their personal style, sharing outfit inspiration, and offering styling tips to make sure everyone feels like their best self. After all, I believe how we present ourselves to the world is a big part of who we are. My love for fashion goes way back. The first stylish person I remember admiring was my dad. He was always dressed to impress, whether we were going to a restaurant or just running errands. I used to ask him, “Dad, why are you wearing a suit? We’re just going to dinner!” But now I understand that he dressed the way he wanted to feel – confident, comfortable, and true to himself. That mindset really stuck with me. I became the person who’d get asked, “Where are you going?” when I was just heading to work or meeting a friend. I guess you could say I’ve always been ‘team overdressed,’ and honestly, I’m okay with that! For years, I only shared my outfits when people asked – either in person or online. I always had a passion for fashion, but I wasn’t sure if I would fit into the content creation space. I’ve spent my career in corporate America, working as a research director, and balancing that with fashion seemed…daunting. I worried about what people might think, how I’d manage both worlds, and whether I could really break into the content creation scene. But then one day, I asked myself a tough question: “Ashley, are you really going to let other people’s opinions stop you from chasing your dreams?” That was my wake-up call. I told myself, “It’s okay to be scared. Do it scared!” And that’s exactly what I did. Now, I consistently share my ‘outfits of the day’ on Instagram and Tiktok, offering a glimpse into my personal style and my thought process behind each look. It’s been amazing connecting with people, helping them feel more confident in their own style choices, and showing them that fashion doesn’t have to be complicated – it’s all about feeling good in what you wear. I’m grateful for this journey and excited about what’s to come. Fashion has always been my way of expressing myself, and now I get to help others do the same. Whether I’m styling an office look or something casual for a night out, my goal is to inspire people to wear what makes them feel their best – just like my dad did.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced so far is balancing content creation with my full-time job. As a research director, I don’t always have the bandwidth to create content daily. That’s why I have to be really smart and effective with how I spend my time. I plan my content in advance and batch it so that I have material ready to post even when things get busy. It’s all about making the most of the time I have for recording and editing while still staying consistent with my audience.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My passion lies in helping others discover their personal style through my own, offering outfit inspiration for every occasion and practical styling tips. I believe in the power of image – how we present ourselves to the world matters. Alongside my content creation, I also work full-time as a research director, balancing my corporate role with my creative passion by planning and batching cotent ahead of time to stay consistent for my community.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood fashion memories is from my 6th birthday at the local roller-skating rink. You’d think I would have worn jeans and a T-shirt like the average kid, but not me! I went all out with black velvet high-waisted bell bottoms, a cream button-up blouse, and my trusty Barbie skates. Even back then, I loved putting together outfits that made a statement.
