Life & Work with Brooklynne Hart

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooklynne Hart.

Hi Brooklynne, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Early on, I knew media was my passion. When I was in elementary school, my mother used to do the morning announcements on our school’s tv. Growing up, I believed she was REALLY on tv and was inspired to be just like her. I began doing the morning announcements with her, which then progressed into me becoming the anchor for my school’s morning news all throughout grade school. When I graduated high school, I then went on to study journalism at Georgia State University and here, I decided to start my talk show journey… While in school, I not only fell deeper in love with media and journalism but also with social justice and black culture. With the height of racial events occurring, I decided to transform my show from a more heavily celebrity- entertainment show to one that not only speaks on that but also focuses on the issues and topics pertaining to the black community.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
During my media journey, I have had many personal ups and downs. I’ve struggled heavily with imposter syndrome, which has caused me to not create work and become inconsistent in fear of not being “good enough”. I’ve had times where I have wanted to give up. As a Creative, these are common challenges, however still can be tough mentally, especially if you’re not seeing the results that you may think you deserve. It can be difficult, but you must keep going. Media is my passion and I know it is something that I am destined to do for the rest of my life, so I refuse to give up.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I host my own talk show on YouTube called Hart to Hart with Brooklynne. Here, I create and edit my own content. I speak on everything from social media to social justice with an emphasis on black culture. This is where my passion lies. Here, I connect Black historical facts with the current events of today to help people better understand black culture and build that bridge of communication between races. My goal is to broadcast my show on a network, therefore, I can educate as many people as possible with the history that was wrongly washed away from our education system. I believe being able to connect entertainment events/news to history will be very intriguing to others and will help spread knowledge in an entertaining way. No one is currently doing this, therefore I would love to be the first.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
One thing I love about Atlanta is how rich in culture it is. Also, It is the only place that I have seen people who look like me (African American) in high places/ career roles. Black people can become, and have proven to be, very successful here. It really is Black excellence all around! I have yet to visit another place like Atlanta, and I doubt that I will.

The thing I hate most about Atlanta is 285. It is the worst highway ever made!
