Life & Work with Bryan Hammond of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryan Hammond.

Hi Bryan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Well! I am a filmmaker, writer, director, producer, executive director, executive producer, artist, author, CEO of several companies, and an actor. And my journey began in New Orleans. Louisiana. So, growing up in New Orleans I was raised in a culture that was filled with music, food, and the celebration of Mardi Gras and many different festivals. Also, I fell in love with movies, tv shows and writing songs. As a matter of fact, in elementary school I wrote my first song and in high school I read the autobiography of Sidney Poitier and it created in me a love for storytelling. In addition, I also read a short story about a young man who was doing bad things in the street. And his grandmother was praying for him and one day he got shot and before he took his last breath, he ask Jesus to come into his heart. And in that book, I saw an animated picture of his spirit ascending to heaven. And Jesus waiting on him with arms wide open.. Now, those two books are the reason why I am doing what I am doing today. So, when I write a story I am consciously thinking about how I want the reader to relate to the story in a practical way. And as a result, hopefully my story will bring those individuals to the Lord Jesus.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, the road was filled with detours and debris and in every phase of my life I have been constantly challenged and pushed to the limit. But, I believe that in every phase and with every chapter, we are constantly evolving and becoming who we were destined to be. And just like a butterfly goes through different stages to be able to fly,; we are also learning from each experience to learn how to live in a different stratosphere and at a different altitude. Also, it wasn’t until I came to the realization that God’s word is the road map for life. And once I started living by His word, I started to trouble my troubles. Meaning, when an overwhelming situation showed up I meditated on the answer in Gods word. And His word caused me to experience victory, and I now look at every challenge as an opportunity to showcase His awesomeness.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As I mentioned earlier, my profession is filmmaking and that is my passion. So, I love when I go to a premiere of one of my films and see the people who attend react to what the Lord use me to create. That gives me great joy and satisfaction, and I am grateful and thankful to be doing something that touches people’s hearts in a positive way. And I am proud of each intellectual property and I look forward to what the Lord has next for me. And I understand that I was given an assignment from the Lord and I must stay in my lane, so that I can experience joy and peace, and fulfillment. Because, if you find yourself doing something that He didn’t assign to you, you could go years trying to get back on track. So, that is why each individual must develop an intimate relationship with the Lord, and know when He is giving His marching orders. And know how to carry those orders out.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
For me without a doubt, my relationship with Jesus Christ is what matters most to me. And I understand that the Bible is how I get to know Him. For example, the Bible says, “Man shall not live by bread (Food) alone, but by every word that preceded out of the mouth of God.” Well! Just like we need food to survive, God’s word is what enables us to live healthy fruitful lives that are pleasing to Him. Moreover, let’s say you are afraid that one of your children may be harmed, because of the people he or she is hanging around. And let’s say you cannot sleep at night because all you can think of is your child, getting hurt. Well! God’s word says, “He shall give His angels charge over your children and when you go to sleep your sleep will be sweet.” Now, this is why Jesus commands us to live by His Words or practically apply His Words to our lives in a relationship relatable way. In closing, I would like to add that Jesus can cause an individual to experience joy and peace beyond anything imaginable. And His love is a shelter in a storm and eagle’s wings to fly you out of this world’s madness.
Prayer, Lord Jesus Christ I believe you died for me and was raised for my justification, so I believe in my heart and I confess you with my mouth and I ask you to come into my heart and make me new, just like you. Amen!
