Life & Work with C Spence

Today we’d like to introduce you to C Spence.

Hi C, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born in Panama the country. Moved to America. Was raised in Warner Robins. Moved to Atlanta to do my Music Career. Started doing Music from back in Warner Robins at the age of 13. My mom got tired of me beating on the tables and kitchen. Her boyfriend got me John (Much respect), got me the Sonic Foundry Acid looping software, and I started making beats from there. I didn’t know what I was doing from there, lol, but I finally learned how to use it. And I knew I was good at it cause my mom would let me blast my music all day. And even let me know it was good. Also, from my 9th grade year, my folks and I would freestyle in our high school hallways, draw crowds, and even have the teachers come and listen. That’s when I knew I must have something. Then got ask to do a graduation song. After I graduated moved up to Atlanta and went to AIU Buckhead to learn how to engineer and video edit. Met Lil Bankhead, the radio personality who kept telling me I had a talent. But was caught up doing other things. Did a couple of mixtapes use to post up and sell them, and fast forward, I’m here now putting in full effort.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not smooth at all. A whole bunch of wasting money on people telling you they can put you in a situation that will better your opportunity just to take your money. Life obstacles trying to do this independent. The biggest struggle is staying motivated when you feel at the bottom.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a Producer/Artist. I’m known for my music. I also drive trucks and produce record, and mix my whole Smokers Union album in the truck. I’m known for my production. For my big homie, Redcoat da Poet. I did a beat for him that feat Killer Mike on it called Favorite Rappers Rapper. That let me know I can do this also. I have a way of understanding beat patterns. I was raised off of listening to so many styles of music. From soca to salsa to reggae, dancehall to rnb, rap, rock, jazz, etc., like was really raised off of music.

What makes you happy?
Making music, chilling with my daughter and family, friends, and girls.

Cooking and eating out. And being on the road
