Life & Work with Danyael “Spirit” Morales of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danyael “Spirit” Morales.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
People often say “it takes a village,” and in many ways, I believe my story wouldn’t be possible without the one god gave me. In my 19 years of life, I’ve managed to walk many paths, and sometimes I still find myself split on which path to walk down; however, one thing has remained constant, and that is I create. I have always been a creative. However, I don’t think I recognized that until August 2023, when I had sat down for a conversation at Boston Commons with the record label Ethereal Visions.

What was supposed to be an event planning meeting turned into a much deeper conversation, and from that conversation, I was welcomed into a brotherhood that pushed me to believe in the shine god gave me and the importance of moving with that light.

Now, to speak considerably, I wouldn’t say I came from struggle. I had an encouraging family, good friends, and a comfortable quality of life; however, when I was away from all of that, in my own time, I spent a lot of those first 17 years making decisions. Decisions that came with great rewards, and sometimes greater scars, however, through those choices, I learned the importance of discipline and intentionality in the pursuit of self-fulfillment. So with those lessons learned, a tribe supporting me, and a newfound passion, I had decided to make a big change for myself and move from Boston to pursue my business degree at Clark Atlanta University with one mission in mind – To create.

Since then, over the past two years, I’ve adopted the identity “Spirit,” and have pursued a career surrounded by the passion I have towards creating. This has not only allowed me to create throughout Atlanta, but it has also further prepared me for my upcoming transition to create all over New York City.

Where I am now would never be possible without me, but I would never truly be “me” if not for those who showed me where to find myself.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’d never say I come from struggle, but I do come from bad choices. Choices that have harmed, jeopardized, and endangered me in more ways than one, and from those choices, I’ve learned. And one of the most comforting things I think I’ve learned is that no matter what the road may look like, as long as you keep moving forward, you’ll reach your destination.

Granted, the road is drivable, of course.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Simply put, I create. I have always had a natural-affinity towards creating since a toddler, and later in life, I learned to pursue those at high capacities across all fields. Learning instruments turned into producing, which turned into recording, leading to dance and performances. Graphic design turned into photography, which then led to a surprisingly fruitful career in media and marketing, so most would say my speciality is creative direction; but my background has always been in performing arts, so in my eyes, “I just create.”

Over the past few years, I have organized, facilitated, shot, directed, edited, and conceptualized events, casting calls, and productions across multiple states on both small and large scales. These have included photoshoots, raves, performances, brand campaigns, and a very long list of happy clientele who have “created with SPIRIT.”

Outside of that, since 2023, I have been a member of the independent record-label Ethereal Visions and spent 2023-2025 simultaneously as a dancer for a dance company called the Hazzle Jinx Collective, and the second half of 2025 as the Chief Executive for CreATL, a local creative agency based here in Atlanta.

The ability to create art, in my eyes, has always been a way of proving to myself and others that what we imagine is possible and can become tangible, so in a lot of ways, I’m simply just proud of myself for the choices I have made to pursue that belief, make the effort to grow, and put myself in the spaces to continue creating.

In terms of “what sets me apart”, I couldn’t tell you. In my eyes, the only thing that separates any two people is the choices they make. I simply choose to create, and when I create, I create for me. And that puts me in a very happy place in my mind.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Boston is leading this generation’s creative renaissance. The city of Boston deserves more attention.
