Life & Work with Elijah Diggs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elijah Diggs.

Hi Elijah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started making beats in high school. Mainly because I was tired of trying to find beats online to rap to. As time passed by, I grew to like producing more than writing music. The feeling I get when I’m producing for other people is really indescribable. I don’t really like sending beats out I rather be in the room and create something with the artist on the spot. That’s how the best Collabs happen for me.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It really has been a smooth journey for the most part. Besides my first laptop crashing. I have produced 3 full EPs, and many singles along the way. Countless of unreleased music in my vault. I have had a great support group of friends (K.I.T.B) who have helped invest into a lot of equipment for me. This has helped improve my sound tremendously.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My very first body of work was called Perception. This was a very early stage of my production, I was 19 and didn’t know anything but thought I knew it all, and was just getting a glimpse of the real world. That was released in 2015 only on SoundCloud. Then there is organized Chaos which was my first project with K.I.T.B very sampled-based beats and less rapping from myself.

Then I created the 4444 project released in 2021 which is my favorite body of work. This project has less samples and more of my own Organic sound. I originally was making it for myself but I kept featuring the homies on there so it eventually became another group project with K.I.T.B.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I like best about Atlanta is the nightlife. There are so many different spots and hidden gems All around the city. What I like least about it is probably what everybody who lives here complains about the most which is the traffic haha.
